In order to have more capital for loans to support job creation for workers and production and business establishments in the province, in addition to capital from the National Employment Fund, the Social Policy Bank Branch coordinates with Departments, branches and related units to advise the People's Council and the Provincial People's Committee to annually arrange capital from the provincial budget, districts, towns and cities to entrust to the Social Policy Bank to lend to support job creation, maintain and expand employment and other policy beneficiaries.
Over the years, lending activities from the National Employment Fund, the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial Bank for Social Policies has always received attention and support from the Central Government and local entrusted capital. As of June 30, 2023, the total capital for lending to create jobs was VND 2,729 billion. In 2022, many production and business models using loans to support job creation have shown specific effectiveness, such as: Mr. Lam Quang Trung, a member of the Farmers' Association, Phuoc Trinh Hamlet, Tam Phuoc Commune, Long Dien District, borrowed capital from the job creation support program with an amount of 90 million VND, the loan was used to invest in raising 3,000 ducks, the average family income is about 120 - 150 million VND/year, creating jobs for 2 workers.
Many production and business models using loan capital to support job creation have been effective.
Ms. Tran Thi Kim Dao is a member of the Women's Union of Ward 4, Ward 12, Vung Tau City, who borrowed capital from the Job Creation Support Program in 2022 with an amount of 100 million VND. The loan was used to invest in shrimp farming with an area of 1.4 hectares. Currently, her family has escaped poverty, with an average income of about 180 million VND/year, creating regular jobs for 2 workers in the family.
The case of Ms. Tran Thi Tu, a member of the Women's Union, Trang Dinh Hamlet, Bong Trang Commune, Xuyen Moc District. Borrowing capital from the job creation support program in 2023, with an amount of 80 million VND, the loan was used to invest in growing dragon fruit, with an area of 0.5 hectares, currently, the family has escaped poverty, with an average income of 80 million VND/year, creating regular jobs for 04 workers in the family.
According to the representative of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, every year, the Department coordinates with the provincial branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies to conduct two inspections of direct job creation loan sources at a number of loan customers in districts, towns and cities according to the program and plan. Thereby, it has grasped the advantages, difficulties, and recommendations of workers during the implementation of the program, from which it has made recommendations to relevant levels and sectors for consideration.
In 2024, the Provincial Branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies plans to continue providing preferential credit support to create jobs for 13,685 workers through job creation loans (of which, the number of workers creating jobs in communes in difficult areas is 3,000); providing loans to about 350 poor households meeting provincial standards and households that have just escaped poverty.
