On February 11, Dong Nai province leaders worked with the Department of Finance to listen to a report on the draft resolution approving the plan to borrow and repay local government debt in Dong Nai province in 2025.
Dong Nai is implementing a series of major transportation projects.
According to Ms. Truong Thi Huong, Director of the Department of Finance, based on legal regulations and instructions from the province, the department has completed the draft submission and draft resolution on the plan to borrow and repay local government debt of Dong Nai province in 2025.
According to the draft, this year, Dong Nai province will borrow 2,000 billion VND from credit institutions to implement 8 infrastructure projects included in the medium-term investment plan for the period 2021 - 2025.
In particular, it will serve investment projects to build road 25C, road 25B; sub-projects of compensation, support, and resettlement for Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway projects, road 773, road 770B; construction of resettlement areas for Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway...
Before this report, the Economic - Budget Committee of the Provincial People's Council basically agreed with the draft submission and draft resolution. At the same time, it requested to add more authority bases, application procedures and some contents such as borrowing targets, borrowing limits of the province, capital disbursement capacity, etc.
Mr. Duong Minh Dung, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, said that the Government has assigned the province a target of ensuring growth of over 10% by 2025.
In particular, in 2026, Long Thanh airport will operate commercially. To do that, infrastructure must be developed, especially connecting traffic.
The province finds that borrowing from credit institutions is more profitable than issuing local government bonds. This time, the province agreed to submit to the Provincial People's Council a resolution to borrow VND2,000 billion to implement 8 transport projects.
