- First of all, congratulations on being honored with the Ly Tu Trong award by the Central Youth Union. How do you feel about receiving this award?

- I am very honored and proud to receive the Ly Tu Trong award from the Central Youth Union. This is an unforgettable mark in my youth. For a long time, this award has been the goal and motivation for me as well as many other youth leaders. Therefore, receiving the Ly Tu Trong award with 99 other outstanding youth union cadres nationwide, I told myself that I must strive to study, practice and contribute more to be worthy of this great honor.

- In today's joy, please share about the path that brought you to the youth union and youth movement?

- Up to now, I have worked in the People's Public Security Force (CAND) for nearly 17 years. During that time, I have worked as a Youth Union officer from the grassroots level to the Head of the Provincial Police Youth Union for 12 years. Previously, I did not think I would be attached to this task. After graduating and working at a professional unit of the Provincial Police, I received attention and support from many people, including the Youth Union leaders. Through participating in Youth Union activities and movements, my desire to contribute my youth has increased. Therefore, when I was assigned a new task by my superiors, I was very happy.

- How have you tried in the past to have the opportunity to receive the Ly Tu Trong award?

- In the past time, I have always strived to improve myself and complete all tasks well. Realizing my role and position, I focused on advising the provincial police leaders on solutions to maximize the youth strength in the force. On that basis, many activities and movements have been organized and implemented by me and like-minded people.

In my professional work, I and other key officers of the Provincial Police have advised and organized many large programs and activities. In particular, we focus on developing and implementing legal propaganda programs with rich and diverse content and forms, targeting the people, especially young people and students.

The Provincial Police Youth Union has established a Law Propaganda Club with the participation of 30 reporters and propagandists. We maintain the activities of the Young Theory Club well on the basis of gathering, selecting, and training members with sufficient qualifications, capacity, skills... to participate in the fight against and refute the false and distorted arguments of hostile forces, especially in cyberspace.

Based on practical requirements, we established the Digital Transformation Volunteer Youth Club to train union officials, union members, and youth at the grassroots level and carry out tasks assigned by leaders at all levels in implementing Project 06 of the Government.

The Provincial Police Youth Union has also established a Digital Transformation Team with 100 members directly participating. Currently, we are advising the Provincial Police leadership to deploy a digital law dissemination model. In addition, community activities always receive great attention from me and my teammates.

Create close relationships with people

- As a Police Captain working in the Youth Union, what advantages and difficulties do you see yourself encountering?

- Like other union officials, I have certain advantages and difficulties. However, with the spirit of a young person, I always determine that no difficulty can stop my steps. Therefore, I would like to share more about the advantages. For a long time, the union work and youth movement have always received attention, direction, and favorable conditions from the leaders of the Provincial Police. Besides, the discipline and order of union members and young people in the industry are important factors that help us achieve success. One thing that cannot be ignored is that the Provincial Police Youth Union always receives attention and close coordination from organizations and individuals, including local union organizations. In particular, the support and trust of the people is a great source of motivation for us. At the work site or when we go to the place where activities and movements are organized, we always see smiles.

- Is it the trust of the people that motivates you and your teammates to make more efforts in activities and movements, especially community activities?

- That's right. Following the previous generations, for a long time, young officers and soldiers of the Provincial Police have always upheld the spirit of "Serving the people". That spirit is further multiplied when we receive the trust of the people. That is the motivation for the youth of the Provincial Police to have many activities towards the people with all their hearts. For many years, activities for the people have been organized regularly and widely throughout the year. Some typical models are: "Pot of love porridge", "Love meal", "March border month", "Spring volunteer"... Recently, the Provincial Police Youth Union has deployed the model of "Security and order route" in remote areas, extremely difficult areas, and key areas of security and order. With this model, young officers and soldiers have contributed to concreting rural traffic routes combined with building security and order lighting works with panels to propagate the law...

Another meaningful work is that the Provincial Police Youth Union has established and maintained the “Living Blood Bank” Club, which currently has 50 official members and 350 reserve members. With their own blood, many officers and soldiers have helped patients overcome critical conditions.

- What encouraging results have those efforts brought, sir?

- Through the implemented models, the relationship between young officers and soldiers of the Provincial Police and the people is increasingly closer and more intimate. People trust and are more active in supporting us to fulfill our tasks well, joining hands to maintain security and order. As for the young officers and soldiers, they have the opportunity to be close to the people, understand the people, and contribute to the people.

- From your personal story and experience in youth union and youth movement work, what message do you have for young people, especially those wearing the police uniform?

- I am honored to receive the Ly Tu Trong award, I always appreciate his famous saying: "The path of youth can only be the revolutionary path and there can be no other path". During the war, the "revolutionary path" was to fight and win independence for the nation. Currently, the "revolutionary path" of our youth is to study, work, and be determined to build and defend the Vietnamese Fatherland in the new era, the era of national growth. On that path, young people wearing the uniform of the People's Public Security need to uphold the spirit of initiative and volunteerism, not afraid of difficulties and challenges to contribute more to the Party, the country and the people.
