No one knows since when, the folk song "One tree alone cannot make a forest/ Three trees together can make a high mountain" has permeated the minds of many generations of Vietnamese people. And that spirit of solidarity and unity has become the strength for the Vietnamese people to fight against natural disasters and defeat all invaders.

Our nation's history has gone through many resistance wars against foreign invaders to protect our country. Those resistance wars have demonstrated the great and steadfast strength of the spirit of solidarity. Continuing the tradition, President Ho Chi Minh also considered great national solidarity a core content, creating an important mark of his leadership of the Vietnamese revolution.

During the resistance war against the French, under the leadership of the Party, the gathering and mobilization of the front through the periods, all people as one shared the same will to destroy the enemy, to gain independence and freedom. President Ho Chi Minh's call: "We would rather sacrifice everything than lose our country, never become slaves. Fellow countrymen, we must stand up!..." further encouraged the spirit and solidarity of our people. Thanks to the unanimity and determination of the entire people, the resistance war against the French colonialists ended in victory with the Dien Bien Phu victory "famous in five continents, shaking the earth".

This is reflected in the correct policies and guidelines of the Party and State, and in the consensus of all classes of people. From a poor, backward country, heavily devastated by war, to date, Vietnam has emerged from the list of underdeveloped countries, gradually rising up, gradually asserting its position in the international arena.

At the end of 2020, Ha Tinh entered a new term with "double" difficulties and challenges when it suffered the extremely severe consequences of the historic flood and was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in all areas. Resolution No. 01-NQ/TU on focusing on leadership and direction to overcome the consequences of natural disasters in 2020; a number of orientations, goals and solutions for prevention and response to minimize damage caused by natural disasters were promptly issued by the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee.

This is the first resolution of the Provincial Party Committee in the new term after the congress, in which the important content is to focus on building community cultural houses combined with storm and flood shelters and solid housing for people with meritorious services, poor households, and households affected by natural disasters and storms and floods.

The spirit of solidarity is not only reflected in the timely and humane policies of the Party Committee and the government, but also clearly demonstrated in every area of ​​social life, in every community. That is the story of the people of Thuong Tu village (Bui La Nhan commune - Duc Tho) contributing money for a poor student to go to university; the groups of women, youth, and veterans helping families of the disabled, the elderly, and the lonely harvest rice to escape the storm; the warm military-civilian relationship when the soldiers returned to the village, rolled up their sleeves with the villagers to clean up and overcome the consequences after the flood...

The spirit of solidarity is also an important basis for effectively implementing patriotic emulation movements, especially the movement to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas. With the joint efforts of the Party Committee, the government and all classes of people, up to now, the whole province has achieved 2/10 criteria of a new rural province; 9/13 districts, cities and towns have met the standards/completed the task of building new rural areas; 177/181 communes have met the new rural standards, 50 communes have met the advanced new rural standards, 7 communes have met the model new rural standards... The appearance of the homeland is increasingly changing, the material and spiritual life of the people has been improved.

These are real and clear evidences of the solidarity and unity of the Party Committee and the People of Ha Tinh.

These days, throughout the countryside of Ha Tinh, the atmosphere is bustling with celebration of the National Great Unity Day.

Success, success, great success" has always been engraved in the hearts of our Party and people and its value has been promoted in life, in the work of building and developing the homeland. Unity is the source of strength for the Party Committee, government and people of Ha Tinh to continue to overcome all difficulties, determined to make the province one of the development poles of the North Central and Central Coast regions, to reach the standards of a new-style rural province by 2025, and to become a fairly developed province of the country by 2030.

From the Fund for the Poor, the Provincial Fatherland Front has built hundreds of houses and supported hundreds of livelihood models for the poor in 2023.
