Vietnam is a potential destination for investment in AI
Sharing at FPT Techday, Dr. Andrew Ng, a scientist in the top 100 AI experts in the world, said that he is very optimistic about the future of Vietnam in general and the future of artificial intelligence (AI) in Vietnam in particular.
According to Dr. Andrew Ng, Vietnam is a very potential destination for AI investment. Therefore, Landing AI - the company he founded - has great potential to cooperate in developing artificial intelligence with Vietnamese businesses in many fields such as technology and education.
This expert commented that the education system is a strong point of Vietnam. The current demographic shift helps Vietnam become an attractive destination for intellectual investment in many fields.
“ The AI market has enough opportunities for everyone, from established businesses to startups. AI applications will certainly become more successful and popular, bringing more revenue to businesses in the future ,” Dr. Andrew Ng affirmed.
Dr. Andrew Ng also believes that in the next few years, the AI revolution will bring about great results, changing the way we live and work. Therefore, the future of AI development in Vietnam will be very open.
Artificial intelligence will be the heart of the 4.0 industrial revolution.
According to FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh, artificial intelligence is the heart of the 4th industrial revolution.
“ We are sometimes a bit of a dreamer. But we understand that the heart of the fourth industrial revolution is artificial intelligence, the fundamental difference between today and tomorrow is artificial intelligence ,” said Mr. Binh.
FPT Chairman also believes that in the near future there will be an explosion in Computer Vision. According to Mr. Binh, FPT is extremely lucky to have bet on computer vision, and the pioneer company in this field is Landing AI.
In the education sector, Landing AI will partner with FPT Education to develop a comprehensive AI curriculum for students from grades 1 to 12. The entire curriculum will be compiled by Mr. Andrew Ng and his colleagues. Dr. Andrew Ng has also been invited to become an AI consultant at FPT Education.
In terms of technology, FPT and Landing AI will cooperate to implement AI projects such as developing computer vision applications for industries, healthcare, education and many other fields. This is the field where Landing AI is strong in the North American region.
Previously, FPT and Landing AI successfully coordinated and provided AI solutions for the production line of a global corporation in the field of automotive interior manufacturing with annual sales of 13 billion USD.
Sharing more, Mr. Binh said that in 2020, FPT had the opportunity to cooperate with a professor who developed deep learning technology, who first came up with the idea of large language models. At that time, FPT made the first bet and succeeded. " Now we will continue to bet a second time on Computer Vision with the hope of being able to serve the future world even better ," Mr. Binh said.
Sharing the same view on the growth of AI, Mr. Vu Anh Tu - FPT Technology Director said that people are always afraid of technological advances, the same goes for AI. Many experts have spoken out to stop developing AI because they fear its negative aspects, but contrary to that wish, companies are accelerating the development of the next generation of AI that is increasingly more advanced.
“ AI is now permeating every aspect of life, such as phones, watches, refrigerators, and vacuum cleaners. The role of AI is reflected in three main areas: enriching personal experiences, supporting technology, and thirdly, enhancing intelligence, creating competitive advantages for businesses ,” said FPT’s CTO.
