The first automobile factory in Quang Ninh

Implementing the policy of shifting the economic development structure from “brown” to “green”, Quang Ninh focuses on attracting businesses and investors in the fields of processing, manufacturing, high-tech industry, clean technology, modernity, and environmental friendliness. One of the many projects in this field that has been attracted to the province is the Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory Project in Viet Hung Industrial Park, Ha Long City, which is preparing to officially come into operation.

Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory, invested by Thanh Cong Group, specializes in manufacturing and assembling Škoda brand automobiles, the largest automobile brand in the Czech Republic. The project is built on an area of ​​36.5 hectares, located in the Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile and Supporting Industry Complex, with a total scale of 400 hectares, with a total capital of VND 8,679 billion in Viet Hung Industrial Park.

The factory has a production and assembly capacity of 120,000 cars/year. This is also the first Škoda Auto branded car assembly and manufacturing factory in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. The entire production line applies Škoda Auto's leading advanced and modern technologies, meeting European standards with a high level of automation.

Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory will officially start trial operation from the end of 2024 and operate commercially from the beginning of 2025.

After 2 years of implementation, auxiliary areas such as test track, office building, LPG station, fuel station, etc. have all been completed, ready for the factory to officially start testing from the end of 2024 and commercial operation from the beginning of 2025. In the immediate future, this will be the factory to manufacture and assemble the first Skoda cars, making Quang Ninh one of the next major automobile manufacturing centers of the country.

In the initial phase of operation, the factory will assemble SUV and B-class Sedan segments to suit the tastes and current consumption trends of Vietnamese people. In the next phase, the factory will expand to environmentally friendly electric vehicles. The products of Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory will not only be a source of supply for Thanh Cong Group's current core automobile manufacturing and trading activities, but will also aim for export; contributing to promoting the Vietnamese automobile supporting industry to reach regional and world markets.

At the working session to listen to the report on the implementation of the Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory Project of Thanh Cong Group, Comrade Vu Dai Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, emphasized: The Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile and Supporting Industry Complex is a key project, a driving force for the development of the province in the coming years. During the project implementation process, the province has accompanied and supported to the maximum extent. This policy will continue to be implemented in the coming time. The Provincial Party Secretary requested departments, branches and Ha Long City to actively participate, focusing on solving outstanding issues and problems related to the Thanh Cong Group's project, especially issues related to the allocation of land for leveling, investment in workers' housing projects, completion of connecting traffic infrastructure, and power sources. Provide maximum support to Thanh Cong Group to complete the project as soon as possible, ensuring consistency in each phase of Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automotive and Supporting Industry Complex.

Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory is positioned as the core project in the Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile and Supporting Industry Complex, a symbol of the friendly cooperation between Vietnam and the Czech Republic.
