On November 12, information from the Thanh Hoa Department of Transport said that in the 1/200 scale zoning plan for area No. 04 of the Thanh Hoa City Urban Master Plan being prepared, a land fund has been planned to build a passenger station for the high-speed railway on the North-South axis with an area of 8.1 hectares.
The high-speed railway passenger station is expected to be located in Dong Tan commune, Thanh Hoa city, adjacent to the Western Ring Road to the east.
According to the project route, from Tam Diep mountain area, go south, turn to the west of National Highway 1 in Ha Trung district, cross Ma river at a position about 4.3km upstream from Ham Rong bridge. Thanh Hoa station is located in the west of Thanh Hoa city.
Specifically, the passenger terminal is expected to be located at the intersection of Lai The Long Street and the Western Ring Road (also known as Van Lai - Yen Truong Street) in Dong Tan Commune, Thanh Hoa City. The location of the terminal construction area is next to the central bus station of Thanh Hoa City (Thanh Hoa City Central Bus Station project is 9.9 hectares wide, with a total investment of about 300 billion VND, and has not yet started construction).
The station construction location has the Western Beltway of Thanh Hoa City intersecting with Lai The Long Street and next to the central bus station project of Thanh Hoa City.
Currently, Thanh Hoa province is also assigning functional sectors to research and prioritize land allocation around the passenger station area to develop urban areas and functional areas in the direction of urban development with a fast, large-volume public transport hub as the central nucleus connecting urban railways, national railways and high-speed railways. At the same time, it facilitates and encourages people to use public transport and creates sustainable, environmentally friendly urban areas according to the TOD model.

It is known that the North-South high-speed railway route passing through Thanh Hoa province is about 95.2km long, passing through 8 districts, towns and cities. Thanh Hoa will have 2 stations, including 1 station in Dong Tan commune and 1 planned station in Nghi Son Economic Zone.
In addition, there are maintenance stations in the communes: Hoang Hop (Hoang Hoa district); Thang Binh (Nong Cong district) and Tan Truong (Nghi Son town).
The Government has completed the project and submitted it to the National Assembly for investment policy on the project with an investment scale of building a new double-track railway, 1,435mm gauge, electrification, design speed of 350km/h, total length of about 1,541km; including 23 passenger stations and 5 freight stations, the project has a total investment of about 67.34 billion USD, passing through 20 provinces and cities, land use demand of about 10,827 hectares, population needing resettlement of about 120,836 people...
