On the morning of December 29, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province announced that the acting Chairman of the People's Committee of the province, Ha Sy Dong, had just signed a decision to authorize the Director of the Department of Transport to approve the results of selecting investors, sign a contract for the project of operating and providing public passenger transport services by non-subsidized buses on the inter-provincial bus route adjacent to Quang Tri - Hue and organize the implementation of the project in accordance with regulations.

Accordingly, the winning investor to implement the project of operating and providing public passenger transport services by non-subsidized buses on the inter-provincial bus route between Quang Tri and Hue and vice versa is Quang Tri Bus Company Limited, located in Dong Le ward, Dong Ha city, Quang Tri province.
The winning bid price for the ticket price for operating the non-subsidized inter-provincial bus route from Quang Tri to Hue (route code 11) and vice versa is 714 VND/km/person. The contract implementation period is 10 years from the date of the decision approving the results of investor selection.
"The investor is responsible for mobilizing 11 billion VND to purchase vehicles and equipment to implement the project," the decision clearly stated.
Previously, Giao Thong Newspaper reported that in November 2024, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province signed a decision approving information on the project to operate and provide public passenger transport services by non-subsidized buses on the inter-provincial bus route between Quang Tri and Hue and vice versa.
The inter-provincial bus route connecting Quang Tri and Hue (route number 11) has a distance of 84km, from Gio Hai beach (Gio Linh district, Quang Tri province) to the Southern bus station (Hue city).
Bus operating hours are from 5am to 5pm daily, with a maximum interval of 60 minutes per trip.
The buses put into operation have a capacity of 18 seats and 8 standing seats. They are 100% new and unused (manufactured from 2023 onwards), and meet Euro V emission standards or higher.
The total investment capital of the project is over 10.5 billion VND in the form of public bidding. The time to start organizing the selection of investors is in the fourth quarter of 2024.
According to the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, the project aims to facilitate and further promote travel and trade between the two localities, especially in accessing economic, commercial, medical, educational and tourism centers in the two provinces and neighboring areas, contributing to promoting socio-economic development, tourism and trade in the two provinces of Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue.
At the same time, limit the use of personal vehicles, thereby contributing to reducing accidents, traffic jams, environmental pollution...
