Reasons that make you look older than your age

Eating too much salt, drinking too little water, and abusing alcohol can cause inflammation and aging of the body faster than one's age.

Smoking, drinking

These bad habits add stress and inflammation to the body. Drinking alcohol causes dehydration, which can lead to liver disease and increases the risk of cognitive decline and dementia. Men should have no more than two drinks a day and women should have no more than one drink a day.

Eat salty

Consuming too much salt causes cells to age faster and increases the risk of cardiovascular disease. Foods high in salt can adversely affect the stomach lining, increase the burden on the kidneys, lead to high blood pressure and accelerate aging. The average daily sodium intake should be around 1,500 mg.

Not drinking enough water

Even mild dehydration can cause dry skin and wrinkles. Severe or prolonged dehydration can affect the brain, resulting in poor concentration and mood swings.

Back, joint, and muscle pain can occur or worsen when the body is dehydrated. Drinking 8-10 glasses of water a day can relieve back, joint, and muscle pain. People with joint pain should drink plenty of water throughout the day.

Avoid carbonated soft drinks or drinks with stimulants. Fruits and vegetables contain a lot of water, which helps to clean the cells. When you drink enough water every day, your skin is detoxified, moisturized, smoother and reduces the effects of aging.

Not eating enough fat and protein

Fat helps keep you warm, provides energy, supports cell growth, and helps the body absorb certain nutrients. Omega-3 (DHA, EPA) reduces inflammation and is beneficial for the brain. This fat also increases good cholesterol levels, reduces plaque buildup in the arteries, and prevents the risk of heart attack.

Decreased muscle mass as we age can lead to injury and increase the risk of chronic disease. Eating more protein reduces muscle loss, increases metabolism, and slows aging.

Use a lot of added sugar

Sugar promotes unhealthy microbiota and inflammation, which accelerates the aging process. When you cut out sugary, processed, fried foods, etc., signs of inflammation in your body decrease.

Many desserts do not provide a variety of nutritional values. They are often high in sugar, causing blood sugar levels to rise, making you tired and hungry quickly. If you like sweets but are worried about added sugar, choose low-sugar options such as Greek yogurt or dark chocolate.

Canned foods can contain a lot of added sugar. Shoppers choose canned fruits and vegetables without added sugar for a healthier option.
