Before, during and after the flood, the Front staff in the two "flood-prone" districts of Le Thuy and Quang Ninh (Quang Binh province) always have a firm grasp of each area; joining hands to help people in difficulty and adversity.
For the past 4 days, Mr. Nguyen Van Phong, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lien Thuy Commune (Le Thuy), has been wading through floodwaters to evacuate households facing housing difficulties and promptly grasp the information people need.
When the flood waters began to recede, he was both the "liaison" for distributing relief supplies and the person who helped row the boat to bring relief supplies directly to the people.
Mr. Phong shared that although his house was also flooded, he had to hand it over to his wife so he could have time to support the people.
Or like Mr. Vo Van Thong, Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Son Thuy commune, along with his actions to help people before the flood, he connected with charitable organizations to give 250 boxes of instant noodles, 30 boxes of milk and dried cakes to people in Vinh Quang village and some villages in Son Thuy commune that are isolated and deeply flooded due to floods.
In particular, not letting any people go hungry during the flood, together with local authorities at all levels, on October 29-30, right when the flood water was high, in the pouring rain, cargo boats carrying emergency relief gifts from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Binh province promptly delivered them directly to the people in the flooded areas.
Mr. Le Cong Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Binh province, was present in the midst of the flood to directly visit, encourage and give gifts to support 20 families who suffered heavy losses due to floods (each gift worth 1.2 million VND, including cash and 1 gift of essential necessities) in the two districts of Quang Ninh and Le Thuy.
With the motto of "not letting any people go hungry due to flooding", the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Binh province has provided emergency support of 2,000 gifts including essential food for isolated households (1,000 gifts for each district).
At the same time, urgently distribute 40 medical kits, 600 life jackets, and 30 plastic buoys to deeply flooded areas of Le Thuy and Quang Ninh districts.
The total value of visits and support for people who suffered heavy losses due to floods this time is more than 300 million VND. This is a noble gesture to strengthen people's solidarity in times of hardship and misfortune, when natural disasters and floods are surrounding.
On this occasion, the leaders of the Quang Binh Provincial Front Committee visited and encouraged the family of Mr. Le Ngoc Hon (born in 2002), who unfortunately had an accident while participating in rescue operations in Thai Thuy commune (Le Thuy).
