Ngoc Xuan from the movie Once Upon a Time There Was a Love Story is a promising young actor; Iran won many important awards at the 2024 Hanoi International Film Festival.

Hanoi International Film Festival 2024 (HANIFF VII) takes place from November 7 to November 11.
The event was chaired by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Hanoi People's Committee, the Cinema Department, and the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports and other agencies and units.
The closing ceremony and award ceremony will take place at Ho Guom Theater at 8:00 p.m. tonight (November 11), and will be broadcast live on VTV and HTV.

Attending the closing ceremony were Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long; Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong, head of the HANIFF VII organizing committee; Mr. Nguyen The Ky - Chairman of the Central Council for Theory and Criticism of Literature and Arts - as well as many representatives of departments, branches, international and Vietnamese filmmakers, directors and actors.
Opening the closing ceremony, Mr. Vi Kien Thanh - Director of the Department of Cinema - said HANIFF VII is a solemn film event with 800 Vietnamese and international delegates attending.
During the event, 117 films from 51 countries and territories were screened at three cinema complexes: National Cinema Center, BHD, and CGV.
"Workshops, exhibitions, project markets, as well as artist-audience exchanges... took place in a vibrant, colorful atmosphere, receiving much affection from the capital's public," he said.
According to Mr. Vi Kien Thanh, the event also contributes to the exchange and learning between Vietnamese and international filmmakers, promoting tourism development in the capital Hanoi and Vietnam.

Cover is the best feature film
Prize Best Feature Film awarded to the film Hard shell (The Cover) by director Majid-Reza Mostafavi from Iranian cinema.
The film also received two other major awards: Best Director for a Feature Film and Best Actor for a Feature Film.
Movie Hard shell tells the story of Samir - a teenage boy, who falls in love with Leila - a girl who used to be a balance dancer but was banned from performing by the government.
Samir's father Siamak, a donkey foreman, discovers that the donkeys are missing, and from there he uncovers a terrible secret of corruption.

Iranian director who began his film career by editing and making short films. His first feature film was Unripe Pomegranates (2014) was highly appreciated by the FIPRESCI association.
Second feature film Astigmatism (2018) received the Best Screenplay Award (2019) from the Iranian Film Academy.
Hard shell (2024) is his third feature film.
Lead actor Payman Maadi was absent so director Majid-Reza Mostafavi represented him and his wife.

The director shared that today he felt very honored to receive two awards at HANIFF.
"HANIFF is a high-quality, professional film festival, I really appreciate it," the director thanked the organizers and the capital's audience. He would like to dedicate this meaningful award to his family, especially his beloved wife.
Actress Tiina Tauraite of the film 8 views of lake Estonian film Biwa (Eight Views of Lake Biwa) won the Best Actress in a Feature Film award. The film also received the Jury Prize for Feature Film.
Best Short Film was awarded to the film A bird flew (When the Bird Takes Flight) directed by Leinad Pájaro De la Hoz (Colombia). With the film Typesetter (The Typographer), Iranian director Nasim Forough also won Best Short Film Director.

Actor Ngoc Xuan of the movie Once upon a time there was a love story was awarded the Young Promising Actor award at HANIFF VII. This is also the only Vietnamese feature film competing in this category with other international films.
On stage to receive the award, Ngoc Xuan could not hide her happiness. She thanked the organizers, "thank you director Trinh Dinh Le Minh for letting me be Mien."
At the same time, the actor also did not forget to thank the two actors Avin Lu and Do Nhat Hoang - his two first on-screen movie friends.

"As a new actor, the award has great meaning and encouragement for me on the path to conquering my dream," Ngoc Xuan said.
