Tourism industry strives to exceed targets for the 2020-2025 term

From the action program and Resolution No. 04-NQ/TU of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee has concretized the roadmap with specific steps, especially issuing Decision No. 555/QD-UBND approving the Ninh Thuan Tourism Development Project for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030.

With a new vision and direction, Ninh Thuan focuses on synchronously implementing focused and key solutions, turning potential, advantages and available space into development momentum; building and developing Ninh Thuan tourism brand, planning key tourism areas and spots; promoting the restructuring of the tourism industry towards professionalism, modernity, quality and sustainability. Focusing on calling on economic sectors, encouraging businesses to develop, upgrade and diversify new types and unique services; associated with promoting the value of heritage and national cultural identity such as: beach resort tourism; cultural and historical tourism; ecological tourism; agricultural and rural tourism... with local characteristics and high competitiveness, attracting domestic and foreign tourists.

At the same time, the development of technical infrastructure for tourism in the province has always been focused on over the years. Currently, the province has 55 service and tourism projects that have been granted investment policy decisions and investment registration certificates (still valid), with a total registered capital of VND 50,623 billion. Of which, 27 projects have been put into operation; 18 projects are under construction with a total registered capital of VND 39,935 billion and 10 projects are completing related legal procedures for construction with a total registered capital of VND 6,669 billion. In addition, the province has 237 tourist accommodation establishments and 4,804 rooms; of which the number of rooms with quality equivalent to 3 stars or higher accounts for about 50%, basically meeting the needs when organizing events, conferences and seminars at national and international levels. Tourism businesses in the province invest and upgrade many tourist spots and areas to create a spread, promote the image of Ninh Thuan tourism, diversify tourism products, making the tour schedule to Ninh Thuan more interesting and full of experiences.

The province also promotes tourism promotion, organizes conferences and seminars; cooperates in tourism development with provinces and cities (Quang Nam, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Can Tho, Da Nang) to introduce and promote Ninh Thuan tourism image more and more widely; along with that, develops a plan to organize training and foster tourism knowledge for skilled tourism human resources to meet the increasing demands of tourists; promotes digital transformation in tourism activities and promotes Ninh Thuan tourism through mass media, electronic information pages, smart tourism applications on mobile devices of Ninh Thuan province (ninhthuantourism.vn), tourism publications... which have brought many positive results.

Comrade Nguyen Van Hoa, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: In the period of 2020-2025, the work of developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector has achieved many positive results. The average number of visitors in the period of 2021-2023 increased by 35.1%/year, reaching 82.8%; tourism revenue increased by 34.1%/year, reaching 79.3% of the target by 2025. In 2024, the province welcomed 3.46 million visitors, an increase of 19.3%; social income from tourism activities reached 3,900 billion VND. In the first quarter of 2025, it welcomed 890,000 visitors, an increase of 11.3%, of which 63,000 were international visitors, an increase of 168.1% over the same period; social income from tourism activities reached 1,060 billion VND. With the current growth rate, by the end of 2025, the number of tourists to the province is estimated to reach over 3.6 million, exceeding the target set by the resolution.

To achieve the above goals, the tourism industry continues to focus on drastically implementing the task of developing tourism in the spirit of Resolution No. 08-NQ/TW of the Politburo, Resolution No. 04/NQ-TU on developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector in the period of 2021-2025 and vision to 2030; advising on effectively implementing the task of developing Ninh Thuan tourism into a spearhead economic sector. Continue to strengthen communication work to raise awareness of all levels, sectors and the whole society about the work of developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector associated with environmental protection; coordinate inspection and supervision of tourism business management activities; focus on removing and resolving difficulties and problems of tourism enterprises to ensure timeliness, efficiency and compliance with regulations. Focus on building and deploying digital transformation applications in tourism activities; Coordinate to promote tourism promotion, organize cultural, sports and tourism events inside and outside the province. Promote linkage and cooperation in tourism development, making tourism a destination for tourists.
