As is known, Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un signed the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement between the two countries in mid-June, aiming to strengthen military cooperation, including a commitment to mutual defense.

Russian diplomats also said that Lavrov warmly congratulated his counterpart on the traditional Chuseok harvest festival held in North Korea on September 17, and wished her a fruitful trip to St. Petersburg.
According to the schedule, after the meeting, the North Korean Foreign Minister will leave for St. Petersburg to attend the first BRICS Women's Forum on the sidelines of the fourth Eurasian Women's Forum.
The Eurasian Women's Forum is the largest international forum discussing the role of women in modern society. It is held every three years and aims to promote cooperation between women leaders from all continents.
The theme of the fourth Eurasian Women's Forum, to be held in St. Petersburg on September 18-20, is "Women for Building Trust and Global Cooperation". On September 20, the Eurasian Women's Forum will host the first BRICS Women's Forum.
