Sputnik reported that the Russian military discovered a map of the US military base at Fort Irwin that was left by the US military in one of the Bradley fighting vehicles they sent to Ukraine and later captured in Kupyansk, east of Kharkov province.
Fort Irwin is one of the largest military training centers in the United States located in the Mojave Desert in California, where soldiers are trained to operate armored vehicles as part of brigades.
Since the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine, the US has supplied Kiev with more than 300 Bradley vehicles. A large number of these vehicles have been destroyed by Russian forces on the Ukrainian battlefield.
Meanwhile, according to Ukrinform , preparations for the establishment of a Ukrainian brigade in Poland are being completed by the Defense Ministries of the two countries.
Ukrinform reported that this information was announced by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha and his Polish counterpart Radoslaw Sikorski at a press conference in the capital Kiev on September 13.
Mr. Sybiha recalled that the bilateral security agreement contains a provision on cooperation in training a unit of Ukrainian volunteers living abroad.
“For this to become practical, the Ministry of Defense has to take preparatory steps and this work is currently in its final stage. Once all the preparatory work is completed, this will become a practical reality,” Sybiha said.
For his part, Foreign Minister Sikorski stressed: “We have made progress on this issue. Poland is ready to train the Ukrainian brigade at our expense.”
