By noon on October 8, Binh Tan District Police (HCMC) and related professional units had completed the investigation of the scene of the fire at the plastic injection processing facility on National Highway 1 (Binh Hung Hoa B Ward). Initially, the woman who died in the fire was identified as HL (32 years old, from Tien Giang).

On the same day, local authorities also visited, encouraged, and gave some money to the woman's family to take care of the victim's funeral.
According to the initial report, at about 2:24 a.m. on October 8, Ms. HTKE (38 years old, living in Binh Tan District) discovered a fire at the plastic processing facility of the KP business household and called for people in the area to help put out the fire but could not control it.
Upon receiving the news, Binh Hung Hoa B Ward Police arrived to block off the scene, evacuate residents, and coordinate with the Fire Prevention and Fighting Force to put out the fire.
The fire caused the roof of the facility to collapse.
As a result, the fire caused the death of Ms. HL, who lived next door to the fire area. The cause of death was smoke inhalation. Accordingly, Ms. HL was rescued by the reconnaissance team and taken outside for initial first aid. However, the victim did not survive.
The fire burned about 20/100 m2 of the total area of the business. Some plastic waste has not been estimated in price.
Previously, as Thanh Nien reported, when the fire was discovered, people around used fire extinguishers to put it out. The fire made a loud explosion, the pressure caused some of the plastic factory's roofing sheets to fly far away, hitting the surrounding residential areas. The fire spread quickly, making on-site firefighting efforts unsuccessful.
Machinery inside the facility is damaged
The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team, Binh Tan District Police, Fire Prevention and Rescue Team of Area 4 - Fire Prevention and Rescue Department then dispatched 9 vehicles and 45 officers and soldiers to the scene. By 2:50 a.m. the same day, the fire was completely extinguished.
The cause and damage of the fire at this plastic processing facility are currently being investigated by the police.
