More than 80,000 bottles of Nam Ngu Chili Garlic Ly Son have arrived to celebrate Tet with the people of Ly Son island district and hope for a new bumper garlic crop.
In the bustling atmosphere of welcoming the spring of 2025, the flag-raising ceremony to welcome the new year of the people of Ly Son island district took place solemnly on the top of Thoi Loi mountain. This is a unique cultural beauty and for the farmers who have worked hard all year, it is also an opportunity to send hope for a new bumper garlic crop.
Ly Son garlic plays a key economic role for the people and local government of the island district. The special soil from volcanic lava has created a fertile land containing many precious minerals combined with the long-standing farming experience of the local people, adding a layer of red volcanic basalt soil along with a layer of coral sand covering the surface has created the wonderful flavor of this precious garlic variety on the island.
Ly Son garlic is famous for its fragrant smell, spicy but still sweet taste, small, white garlic bulbs, even cloves. The essential oil content in Ly Son garlic is quite high, so garlic also brings practical economic value when it is currently sold at a price 3-4 times higher than normal garlic because it is favored by consumers.
Mr. Le Hoai An - Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Ly Son district shared: "Previously, many farmers cultivated Ly Son garlic to sell to Ho Chi Minh City. After Nam Ngu joined Ly Son, our Ly Son garlic was widely promoted throughout the country, and people were very excited. We hope Nam Ngu will accompany us for a long time, contributing to developing the value of Ly Son garlic."
Pioneering in accompanying farmers to develop the economy and promote local specialties, Nam Ngu officially signed a contract with the People's Committee and farmers of Ly Son island district to supply Ly Son garlic on a long-term basis to process Nam Ngu fish sauce, Ly Son chili and garlic to ensure output for local specialties from July 2023. Following that, Nam Ngu organized the "Week to enhance Ly Son garlic specialties" in August 2024 and supported 1 billion VND for the project to expand the agricultural irrigation system from the water source of Thoi Loi reservoir, bringing water to garlic fields, ensuring irrigation water for farmers.
Welcoming the New Year 2025 on Ly Son island district, Nam Ngu brand sent more than 80,000 bottles of Nam Ngu Chili Garlic Ly Son to celebrate Tet with farmers, those who have cultivated garlic bulbs with the special flavor of this land, along with a bustling party with many interesting activities such as: wrapping banh tet, pouring banh xeo, delicious dishes such as ram cuon, cha ca, cu kieu and lion dance and art performances.
