By 2025, it is expected that more than 700km of expressway in the Central Highlands region will be completed and put into operation.
According to the plan, the expressway network in the Central Highlands region has 13 expressways (2 vertical routes; 11 horizontal routes) with a total length of 4,098km.
Of which, 1,090km are in operation, including: 839km of the North-South axis in the East (Thanh Hoa - Ha Tinh, Da Nang - Quang Ngai, Nha Trang - Dau Giay sections); 232km of the North-South axis in the West, Thanh Hoa - Nghe An section (currently only operating according to road standards) and 19km of the Lien Khuong - Prenn section.
768km under construction, including: 11 sections (total length of 638km along the North-South axis in the East); 130km section Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot.
868km is being prepared for investment (expected to be invested before 2030) including 7 routes: Vinh - Thanh Thuy (85km), Cam Lo - Lao Bao (56km), Quy Nhon - Pleiku (123km), Nha Trang - Lien Khuong (66km), Quy Nhon - Pleiku (123km), Nha Trang - Lien Khuong (66km), Dau Giay - Lien Khuong (220km).
About 1,372km have not been invested in, including 8 routes. Of which, 2 routes: Quang Ngai - Kon Tum (136km), Ngoc Hoi - Gia Nghia (355km) are expected to be invested before 2030.
The remaining 6 routes include: Vung Ang - Cha Lo (115km), Da Nang - Ngoc Hoi (281km), Quang Nam - Quang Ngai (100km), Phu Yen - Dak Lak (220km), Pleiku - Le Thanh (50km), Lien Khuong - Buon Ma Thuot (115km) expected to be invested after 2030.
According to the construction roadmap, it is expected that by 2025, 706km of expressway will be completed, bringing the total length of expressway in the Central Highlands region to 1,796km.
By 2026, an additional 62km will be completed, bringing the total length of regional expressways to 1,858km.
By 2030, the Central Highlands region is expected to have an additional 868km of expressway completed. The total length of expressway in the region at this time is about 2,726km.
The remaining 1,372km will continue to be invested in by balancing resources according to the approved plan.
