In 2025, Ca Mau province will focus on accelerating many important transport projects, in order to practically welcome the 17th Provincial Party Congress.
On February 6, the Standing Committee of Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee and specialized sectors met to give opinions on investment in key projects and works in the province.
Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai, Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee, said that infrastructure construction, including transport infrastructure, must come first, creating a solid foundation and opening the way for development. Especially key projects to create a breakthrough momentum, keeping up with the general growth rate, on par with the whole country.
The Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee requested to focus on and speed up the tasks that need to be done immediately to speed up the progress of projects that have been and are under construction.
At the same time, be proactive, positive, responsible and effective in coordinating the implementation of projects with policies to promptly start construction, creating conditions for the province to develop rapidly, rise up, and meet the social needs and enjoyment of the people.
At the meeting, the specialized sectors provided further information on the construction progress of the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway component, in which the section in Ca Mau province with a main route length of 21.9km and the connecting route to National Highway 1 with a length of 16.6km are being accelerated, expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
For the Ca Mau - Dat Mui expressway, through survey and shaping, the route ensures the straightest, shortest route, suitable for the actual situation with the proposed end point intersecting with Ho Chi Minh road and directly connecting with the traffic route from the mainland to Hon Khoai Island.
Along with that are 8 intersections on the route to connect with the end point of Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway, some routes with National Highway, Hon Khoai Port and strong local roads.
This is a project approved by the Prime Minister to be added to the Vietnam Road Network Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, with an expected length of 90km, a scale of four lanes, and investment to be carried out before 2030.
Regarding the Ca Mau Airport Upgrade and Expansion Project, the agencies are urgently implementing compensation, support and resettlement work. According to the plan, the site will be handed over to the investor to implement the project in March 2025. It is expected that on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 2025), the Ca Mau Airport Expansion and Upgrade Project will be started.
Hon Khoai Port Project is a type III seaport belonging to group 5 seaports, a planned general seaport. Ca Mau province has proposed to add a logistics service area on land (expected to be a sea encroachment area) and a bridge to the island.
Along with that is the project to upgrade and expand National Highway 1, Ca Mau City - Nam Can section and Ho Chi Minh Road, Nam Can - Dat Mui section.
At the meeting, provincial leaders listened to information from specialized units about the progress of 7 projects to welcome the 17th Provincial Party Congress.
Typical examples include: the Ganh Hao bridge project (connecting Dam Doi district, Ca Mau province with Dong Hai district, Bac Lieu province) expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2025; Phan Ngoc Hien Square is implementing 5 construction packages, with the volume reaching nearly 40%; the Dam Doi - Cai Nuoc - Cha La Victory Monument cluster has reached 12% of the volume...
Regarding the construction project of Ca Mau Provincial Museum, which has now been renamed Ca Mau Provincial Museum - Library Complex, construction is expected to start before June 2025.
