The electoral college of the states is expected to meet on December 17 to cast official electoral votes to elect candidate Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States.

The results of the electoral vote will be announced on January 6, 2025, and Mr. Trump will be sworn in on Capitol Hill on January 20, 2025. In addition to winning the race to the White House, the Republican Party also regained its majority in the Senate. Meanwhile, the results of the House of Representatives election are expected to be announced in the next few days.

Trump's opponent, Kamala Harris, has conceded defeat in the race for the White House, while pledging to transfer power peacefully: "We will engage in a peaceful transition of power. A fundamental principle of American democracy is that when we lose an election, we must accept the results. That principle, like any other principle, distinguishes democracy from monarchy or tyranny. And anyone who seeks the public's trust must respect that."

President-elect Donald Trump has set up a transition team to begin a 75-day transition process.

Mr. Trump's current top priority before inauguration day is to appoint about 4,000 new government positions in the new administration, including important positions such as Secretary of State, cabinet members... About 1,200 presidential nominations will need to be approved by the US Senate.

President-elect Trump revealed on November 6 (US time) that former presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. and billionaire Elon Musk will likely join his administration. As one of Donald Trump's strongest supporters, Elon Musk is expected to push for major reforms to the US government.

Even in his victory speech, Mr. Trump also gave many compliments to billionaire Elon Musk: ''Let me tell you, we have a new star. That is Elon Musk. He is a special person. He is a super genius. We have to protect the geniuses of the country. We don't have many people like that.''

Elon Musk is expected to lead a new agency called the “Department of Government Performance.” In this role, the Tesla CEO plans to promote reforms and reduce administrative regulations, focusing on areas such as artificial intelligence, space exploration and electric vehicle development.

Elon Musk believes that the current administrative system is becoming a burden for the country and he is committed to optimizing this apparatus.

In addition to planning for new administration members, during the transition period, Mr. Trump also began receiving daily intelligence reports.
