On violence prevention, Republicans have consistently criticized President Biden’s Democrats for increasing crime rates nationwide. However, homicides fell 9% in the first six months of 2023 compared to the same period last year. Regarding inflation, on July 13, the US Department of Labor announced that the inflation rate in June was 3.1%, the lowest since the beginning of 2021 and a sharp decrease compared to the record of 9.1% in June 2022. Inflation has decreased by about 6% in a year, reducing the financial pressure on Americans who have had to bear the burden of skyrocketing costs in the past 2 years. Some important items such as fuel, food, and used cars have all decreased. The above signals reflect the prospect of a stable and growing economy, strengthening people's confidence and spending.
These positive signs have a direct impact on the reputation of Mr. Biden and the Republican Party. According to CNN , the Republican Party has been "trapped" when it continuously took advantage of the high inflation rate in recent times to attack the current administration, accusing policies such as Mr. Biden's $1.9 trillion pandemic relief package of causing inflation.
