On November 17, at Hanoi Aqua Central (44 Yen Phu, Hanoi), the Fourteen Art Show 2024 was held in combination with a sketching exchange event for artists and art lovers. 14 participating artists with 14 styles made the exhibition space rich and attractive.
The 14 artists participating in this exhibition are: Nguyen Duy Anh, Nguyen Ngoc Cuong, Nguyen Xuan Dam, Nguyen Hieu, Vu Quang Hung, Nguyen Quoc Hung, Hoang Ngoc Hoan, Duong Ngoc Lua, Duong Viet Nam, Dao Anh Viet, Nguyen Hong Tuan, Giap Vun Tuan, Pham Duy Thai.
During the dry and emotional autumn days, many artists came together with the idea of expressing the theme of Hanoi, but with very different and creative perspectives.
For artist Duong Viet Nam, the memories of his childhood with the still-fading memories of Hanoi's 36 streets still attract viewers with his free-spirited, lively and emotional strokes. Hanoi appears in Duong Viet Nam's paintings as both real and dreamlike.
From his perspective, artist Nguyen Hong Tuan tells a simple, authentic and romantic story about the beauty of life and people in Hanoi. The group of works Living in Hanoi is the artist's process of recording a part of Hanoi's life in an impromptu way.
There, we suddenly encounter a few ordinary moments on the streets or residential areas - where anyone who has ever lived or had the opportunity to visit Hanoi will recognize the familiar, close and unique features. And there, everyone can find themselves in a pho restaurant, a sidewalk cafe, in a few small alleys... or simply a few quiet, waiting moments in the old town.
It is still an open way for the artist and the viewer to build the work together. The story of Hanoi life is told by the artist in a natural and humorous way through simple lines and attractive expression.
Artist Dao Anh Viet is inspired by the vibrant life of Hanoi's Old Quarter in modern times. The group of works with special panorama sizes attract viewers as soon as they enter the gallery. With Dao Anh Viet, Hanoi is not romantic or nostalgic but appears quite impressive with strong brush strokes, strong and bright colors.
Although painters Nguyen Ngoc Cuong, Pham Thai, and Nguyen Duy Anh have different ways of expressing themselves, they all have a gentle, romantic, and poetic perspective on Hanoi.
The Fourteen Art Show will run until November 2024.
