Russia accused the company of being involved in "cyber attacks" against Moscow.
In a statement, the Russian Prosecutor General's Office stressed: "Recorded Future employees actively cooperate with the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and intelligence agencies of other countries, providing information and technical support for the anti-Russian propaganda campaign carried out by the West."
The company, based near Boston in the northeastern United States, was acquired by Mastercard in September 2024 and has representative offices in the UK, Japan, Singapore and Sweden.
Recorded Future specializes in identifying cyber threats and helping companies identify and quantify risk worldwide.
Moscow began drawing up a list of "undesirable" organizations in 2015. To date, the list includes 194 organizations.
Being included on this list means that those organizations are forced to end their presence in the country.
