According to some residents, while on the train from Suoi Tien bus station to Ben Thanh station, the train suddenly stopped at Ba Son station. The stop time was about 10 minutes, and residents were instructed to move off the train so that technical staff could fix the problem.
Some people on other metro trains also said they had to stop at other stations to wait. The loudspeaker announced the cause was due to a problem with the train in front.
On the same evening, Mr. Phan Cong Bang, Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board, confirmed that train number 1700 departing from Suoi Tien bus station to Ben Thanh station had an incident of stopping at Ba Son station. The reason for the stop was that during the inspection, the train control department found that some details in the signal were not in accordance with the operating procedures and technical instructions.

Since this is a new phase of train operation, to ensure absolute safety for passengers as well as staff and vehicles, the operating department has asked for the opinion of the Urban Railway Management Board and Urban Railway Company No. 1 to temporarily stop the train for handling.
Immediately afterwards, the Urban Railway Management Board and Urban Railway Company No. 1 allowed the train to be temporarily stopped and at the same time, coordinated with the contractor Hitachi to inspect and evaluate.
Mr. Bang said that after more than 10 minutes of inspection, relevant units decided to allow the train to operate again.
"We hope that passengers on train 1700 will sympathize and share the incident of the train stopping. In the first phase, we strive to serve people in the spirit of ensuring the safety and convenience for passengers," Mr. Bang shared.

Metro Line 1 was officially put into operation on December 22nd with an enthusiastic welcome from the people. In the first 4 days of operation, Metro Line 1 welcomed about 390,000 passengers.
According to the HCM City Urban Railway Management Board, on the 4th day, people have gradually become accustomed to using the train as a means of transportation to go to work, school, go sightseeing, etc. In recent days, Ben Thanh Station (District 1) has been a place where many visitors gather to experience.
It is known that on average, each train has more than 400 passengers. There are some routes where the number of passengers is so large that they block the door area, making it impossible for the train driver to close the door, leading to a late departure.
On the occasion of the upcoming New Year, Urban Railway Company No. 1 has planned to adjust operating hours and increase the number of trains to serve the city's residents.
