According to Mr. Finbarr Moynihan, Vice President of Marketing, MediaTek, the company has had quite strong revenue growth, increasing from about 8 billion USD in 2019, to more than double with an impressive figure of 18.5 billion USD in 2022. In 2022, the mobile phone segment accounts for about 54% of MediaTek's revenue. The Smart Edge Platforms segment - including all other multimedia and connectivity platforms that MediaTek provides such as smart TVs, smart speakers, smart homes, tablets, Chromebooks... accounts for about 39%.

In terms of mobile market share, MediaTek continues to hold the position of Top 1 mobile chipset supplier in 2021 and 2022, according to data from analysis firm IDC, although in 2021, the semiconductor industry experienced supply problems during the worst semiconductor shortage period, MediaTek still did very well in managing user demand and supply issues and maintained a market share of 41 - 42%.
For the goal of developing 5G, MediaTek has worked with all major carriers in Vietnam, helping to bring devices to each consumer, including carriers: VNPT, Viettel, FPT... MediaTek supports connecting carriers with the company's best customers to ensure the best products are provided to the market, while supporting carriers with research and development capabilities such as VNPT, Viettel to produce "Make in Vietnam" devices.
One of the biggest products is Wi-Fi routers, MediaTek has sold millions of Wi-Fi routers per year. Currently, MediaTek also strongly supports the transition from Wi-Fi 5 to Wi-Fi 6 and 7 in the future. At the same time, MediaTek also supports the commercialization of 5G in Vietnam, 5G CPE products as well as 5G products will soon reach consumers.

The push for 5G is also through the 5G modems that MediaTek integrates into chips used on smartphones. Equipping 5G chips on mid-range smartphones will also be MediaTek's development focus in the near future.
Some recently launched devices using MediaTek chipsets on the market such as: vivo X90, vivo X90 Pro and Oppo Find X6 are equipped with the Dimensity 9200 chip. In addition, folding phones such as Oppo Find N2 Flip, Tecno Phantom V Fold are equipped with the higher-end Dimensity 9000+ chip.
