"Russian Aerospace Forces Su-25 attack aircraft destroyed Ukrainian strongholds and personnel in the Krasny Liman special military operations zone," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
"Our mission today was to destroy a stronghold. The mission was successfully accomplished. The flight was carried out at the lowest possible altitude. The target was hit by an S-8 rocket. After that, we returned to the airport safely," the Su-25 pilot added.
Also in the Krasny Liman area, Russian forces repelled five Ukrainian attacks. Spokesman for the Central Combat Group (Russia), Alexander Savchuk, told TASS that the Central Combat Group repelled five attacks by the Ukrainian army in the Krasny Liman area, causing Ukraine to lose up to 185 soldiers.
“On December 13, five attacks by assault groups of the 24th, 63rd and 116th Mechanized Brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were repelled near the settlements of Kitovo, Chervonaya Dibrova and Petrovskoye,” Alexander Savchuk said.
According to the spokesman, Russian artillery attacked three Ukrainian forces' strongholds and deployment areas, killing 185 soldiers, destroying more than 20 artillery systems and three vehicles.
Many Ukrainian gas installations were destroyed by Russian precision fire.
Previously, on December 12, TASS also reported that a Ukrainian radar station was destroyed by a Russian Su-35 fighter jet near Kupyansk.
The Russian Defense Ministry said in the report that a Su-35 fighter jet of the Russian Aerospace Forces detected and destroyed a Ukrainian radar station in the direction of Kupyansk.
"While performing an air patrol mission in the area of special military operations, the pilot detected Ukrainian radar in the Kupyansk area. Radar radiation from the target disappeared after the Russian aircraft launched an attack," the report said.
Later, scouts confirmed that the radar station had been destroyed.
