Erik Ten Hag's side struggled at home against Nottingham Forest, and it wasn't until the final minutes that the Red Devils took the lead and secured all three points at Old Trafford.
Man Utd were without Mason Mount and Luke Shaw due to injury. Coach Erik Ten Hag had to replace Eriksen and Diogo Dalot in the starting lineup. Rated stronger and playing at home, the Red Devils did not hesitate to raise their attacking formation.
However, they were hit by a counter-attack in the second minute. Awoniyi used his speed to get past Rashford before beating Onana in a one-on-one. Two minutes later, Nottingham doubled the lead with a header from Willy Boly. In both goals, Man Utd's defense showed problems in organization.
Having been doused with cold water early, of course, Man Utd did not accept even a draw. The red-shirted players raised their formation and the goal quickly came in the 17th minute. Rashford escaped very quickly on the left wing before crossing for Eriksen to score.
Man Utd had many difficulties against Nottingham Forest.
10 minutes later, the home fans couldn't believe their eyes when Casemiro missed. The ball was sent in from the right wing, however, the Brazilian player was startled and headed wide of the post.
In the second half, the Red Devils equalized in the 51st minute. Bruno Fernandes moved intelligently from a great free kick he himself made before assisting Casemiro to score.
In the following minutes, Man Utd continuously created opportunities from Antony's wing. However, the excellence of goalkeeper Matt Turner as well as the lack of luck in finishing prevented the home team from scoring more goals.
The turning point came in the 67th minute, when Bruno Fernandes had a chance to face Turner's goal. Defender Worrall fouled him from behind and received a red card. Ten minutes later, Rashford won a penalty and captain Bruno Fernandes made no mistake to make it 3-2. This was also the final result of the match.
Man Utd have won 6 points after the first 3 matches of the season. In the next round, they will face Arsenal, who were held to a 2-2 draw by Fulham in the same match.
