(Dan Tri) - Man Utd reached an agreement to buy 20-year-old Danish defender Patrick Dorgu from Lecce for a transfer fee of 34 million euros.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said Man Utd and Lecce have reached an agreement on the deal for Patrick Dorgu, the new contract will be signed tomorrow (January 30).
In addition to the 34 million euro fee, Man Utd may have to pay an additional 5 million euros depending on Dorgu's performance at Old Trafford. The defender born in 2004 is the "Red Devils" first deal in the January transfer window this year.
The Danish defender is likely to sign a five-year contract. If all goes well, the 20-year-old defender could make his Man Utd debut against Crystal Palace in the 25th round of the Premier League on February 2.
Lecce bought Patrick Dorgu 2 years ago for 2 million euros and after the transfer deal with Man Utd was completed, the Serie A representative earned a large sum of money to strengthen their squad.
Patrick Dorgu is considered an important addition for coach Ruben Amorim at left-back. Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw are out with injuries, while right-back Diogo Dalot has not been effective when pushed to the left.
Dorgu was born on October 26, 2004 in Copenhagen (Denmark). He grew up in the Nordsjaelland club's training center and is highly appreciated for his physical playing style. He joined Lecce in the summer of 2022, scoring 5 goals in 53 matches in Serie A.
