According to France 24, the Malian military government has revoked the license granted to France's national airline Air France.
According to an official in the Malian military government, the reason is that the permit has not been submitted to the higher authorities. The decision was made a day after Air France announced that it would resume flights to Mali from October 13, after suspending them since August 7 due to tensions in Africa's Sahel region, as well as between France and Mali.
Air France's suspension of flights to Mali was initially only for a few days, but after the airline extended the suspension citing the coup in Niger and the geopolitical situation in the Sahel region, the Malian authorities revoked Air France's license.
The move comes amid worsening relations between Mali and France since the military government took control of the West African country in 2020.
