Veteran Pham Van Khanh (born in 1963 in Bai Dai village, An Sinh commune, Dong Trieu city), enlisted in 1980 in Regiment 792, Division 323 and fought on the Northern front. In June 1985, he was demobilized and returned to his hometown. Due to difficult circumstances, Mr. Khanh's family's old house was degraded and unsafe during the rainy and stormy season. He could not help but be moved every time he looked at his family's new, sturdy house of nearly 70 square meters . Mr. Khanh shared: “Since the day the Dong Trieu City Military Command mobilized funds and provided labor days to help my family have more determination to build a new house, my life has had less worries and concerns. Not only do I have the house I have dreamed of for so long, but now during the rainy season, my family is completely at ease. Thanks to the Army, we have truly been able to “settle down”, everyone in the family has the conditions to wholeheartedly focus on doing business and developing the family economy.”

The family of Mr. Pham Van Kim, village 3B, Hai Tien commune, has a son named Pham Van Toan - a soldier who was discharged in early 2024, who worked at Division 363, Air Defense - Air Force. After reviewing and understanding the situation, the Military Command of Mong Cai city mobilized funds to support the family of comrade Pham Van Toan with an amount of 50 million VND to help build the Great Unity House. After more than 5 months of construction, with the supported money and the family's savings, borrowing from relatives, the spacious and solid house was completed and put into use with a total area of ​​nearly 80m2 . During the construction process, the Military Command of the city, the militia force and the organizations of Hai Tien commune supported the labor force to transport construction materials.

Mr. Khanh and Mr. Kim are just two of many policy beneficiaries who have been supported by the Quang Ninh Provincial Military to build a great solidarity house in 2024.

Communes, wards and towns focus on implementing the Party and State's policies on war invalids, martyrs and people with meritorious services so that support work is timely and practical.

In 2024, the Provincial Military Command and agencies and units allocated funds to visit and present gifts to policy beneficiaries and meritorious people with a total amount of 617 million VND; visited and presented gifts to 147 war invalids, veterans, and former soldiers who participated in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign with a total amount of nearly 780 million VND; visited and presented gifts to 341 policy beneficiaries with an amount of over 270 million VND; transferred 5 gifts from the President, 5 gifts from the Ministry of National Defense, 5 gifts from the Military Region 3 Command, and 1 gift from the province to policy beneficiaries who are war invalids and children of martyrs working in the Provincial Military Command.
