Speaking at the festival, Deputy Director of the Departmentof Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City Le Thuy My Chau said that right after the liberation day, from 1975, preschool education began to be built from small childcare facilities, mainly serving the children of officials and employees in the context of the country's many difficulties.

The first kindergartens such as 19/5 Kindergarten and City Kindergarten were established, marking the beginning of a formal preschool education system.

In the 1980s, along with the country's renovation, preschool education was given more attention with the expansion of public educational institutions and the participation of non-public institutions, meeting the growing needs of society.

By the 1990s, Ho Chi Minh City had made important strides in standardizing preschool education programs, building a team of professional teachers, and upgrading facilities.

“The number of preschools has increased significantly, from a few hundred to thousands, covering all districts. This is also the period when child care and education policies have been improved, creating a foundation for children's comprehensive development. Entering the 21st century, the city's preschool education has welcomed new opportunities in the context of international integration. Advanced educational programs have been applied, national standard preschools have been established one after another, and the teaching staff has been trained in modern, child-centered educational methods,” emphasized comrade Le Thuy My Chau.

Up to now, Ho Chi Minh City's preschool education has made breakthroughs, with a system of 3,252 spacious and modern preschool facilities, spread across 21 districts and Thu Duc city.

Preschool education programs are innovated in an integrated direction, focusing on developing life skills, creative thinking and humanistic values for children.

Along with that, the application of technology in management and teaching, strong investment in facilities, has helped kindergartens become "happy homes", where children are nurtured in love, science and safety.

“These milestones are not only the pride of the preschool education sector, but also a testament to the deep concern of the Party, State and people of the City for the preschool generation - the future of the country,” added comrade Le Thuy My Chau.

Ho Chi Minh City Preschool Education Development Festival attracted a large number of preschool teachers, parents, and preschool students from schools in districts, towns, and Thu Duc City to participate and experience.

The festival also features exhibition areas introducing the formation and development process of kindergartens; the preschool education sector of districts, towns, and Thu Duc city; displaying paintings by preschool children...
