On the morning of December 30, a representative of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Long Bien District Police (Hanoi) said that the unit had extinguished a fire that broke out at a house at the end of lane 48 Ngoc Tri (Thach Ban ward).
Accordingly, at around 9:00 a.m. the same day, the 114 Command Information Center - Hanoi City Police received a report of a house fire at the above location. Upon receiving the report, the Command Information Center dispatched 4 fire trucks and dozens of officers and soldiers of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Long Bien District Police to the scene to put out the fire.
Witnesses said that because the attic of the house where the fire broke out contained many flammable objects, the fire spread quickly and engulfed the entire attic.
"We tried to use water and portable fire extinguishers to put out the fire but failed," said a witness.
After about 20 minutes, the Fire and Rescue Police force arrived at the scene and the fire was under control. The police then continued to spray water to cool and extinguish the fire to prevent it from spreading to other areas.
Initially, the fire did not cause any human casualties, property damage is being counted by authorities.
Currently, Long Bien District Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
