Scene of the fund-raising ceremony to support families with preferential policies
The two families receiving funding to build houses of gratitude this time are Mr. Tran Van Cao's family (Van Phu commune, Nho Quan district) and Mr. Pham Huu Nhung's family (Khanh Thuong commune, Yen Mo district).
Mr. Tran Van Cao, born in 1950, is a 3/4th-class disabled veteran, 64% sick soldier; Mr. Pham Huu Nhung, born in 1952, was exposed to toxic chemicals. They were both former soldiers of Brigade 101, Region 4. Their family currently lives in a level 4 house that was built a long time ago and is now dilapidated and unsafe during the rainy and stormy season; the family's income mainly depends on disability benefits, so they face many difficulties. Mr. Nhung is raising a disabled nephew.
Faced with the difficult circumstances of the families, Brigade 131 proposed to support each family with 80 million VND to build a new, more spacious house. The support fund was drawn from the "Repaying gratitude" Fund of the Navy.
This is a practical and meaningful activity, demonstrating the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source" of officers and soldiers of Brigade 131 towards families of people with revolutionary contributions.
