More than 6,000 people in Kien Giang heard information about the sea and islands

Students of Mong Tho Secondary and High School listen to information about the sea and islands.

Reporters from Region 5 provided information about the sea and islands to more than 6,000 cadres, party members, key cadres of communes and towns; cadres, women's union members, veterans, religious dignitaries, prestigious people among ethnic minorities; teachers, students, youth union members, fishermen, owners of seafood exploitation vehicles and people in 6 districts and cities under Kien Giang province.

Reporters of Region 5 advise and provide information on training majors, conditions, processes and procedures for registering for admission to the Naval Academy for students.

The information focuses on the position, role and importance of Vietnam's seas and islands in the cause of national construction and protection; the legal basis and historical evidence affirming Vietnam's sovereignty over the two archipelagos of Truong Sa and Hoang Sa; the current situation in our country's seas; the viewpoints, policies and solutions of our Party and State in the struggle and resolution of disputes at sea; and the outstanding achievements of the Vietnam People's Navy in protecting the sovereignty of the seas and islands of the Fatherland.

The delegates were also informed by the reporter of Region 5 about Directive 45/CT-TTg dated December 13, 2017 of the Prime Minister on a number of urgent tasks and solutions to overcome the warning of the European Commission on combating illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing; prohibited acts when exploiting seafood at sea; regulations on administrative sanctions in the field of fisheries; cases of fishermen being handled for violating the law and regulations when exploiting seafood at sea.

Students are also consulted and provided with more information about training majors, conditions, processes and procedures for registration to the Naval Academy; policies to attract high-quality human resources to build a revolutionary, disciplined, elite and modern Navy...

The organizers presented fishermen and delegates with the national flag.

On this occasion, the Command of Region 5 and the Propaganda Department of Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee distributed 200 sets of documents on “Things to know when going to sea”, 300 sets of documents on admission consultation; presented 1,000 national flags to fishermen, hamlet party cell secretaries, local veterans and many meaningful gifts to students.
