- Fear of increased money laundering using cryptocurrencies

On September 20, the Vietnam Banking Association (VNBA) and the Vietnam Blockchain Association held a conference on “Regulations on anti-money laundering and the role of anti-money laundering in cryptocurrency transactions”. In Vietnam, due to the lack of specific legal framework, lack of procedures, and high-quality personnel in cryptocurrency and digital assets, although the Anti-Money Laundering Law 2022 has taken effect since March 1, 2023, credit institutions and state agencies are still confused about how to handle acts related to this new type of asset (according to Nhip Song Thi Truong).

- ATM withdrawals have decreased sharply.

In the second quarter of this year, cash withdrawal transactions via ATMs decreased by 13.5% in quantity and 17.8% in transaction value compared to the same period in 2022. Today's gold price on the international market has slightly decreased, but domestically, the price of SJC gold bars is still on the rise. Doji gold is at its highest price, reaching 69.4 million VND/tael.

Bank interest rates on September 20 recorded 3 more reductions by banks. Notably, OCB reduced deposit interest rates for the third time in September.
