Unlike the opening night held at the outdoor stage of Lam Vien Square, the closing and award ceremony were held in the Dalat Opera House auditorium. This is the first opera house in Da Lat City, with an investment of 250 billion VND, of which 50 billion VND was invested in interior, sound, lighting, etc.
Before the official award ceremony began, outside the Dalat Opera House auditorium, the red carpet event took place in an extremely solemn atmosphere. Many veteran artists of cinema, artists and film crews named in the competition and nomination categories... appeared together, creating a bustling atmosphere.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the film festival, Mr. Vi Kien Thanh, Director of the Department of Cinema, emphasized that the 23rd Vietnam Film Festival brought creative inspiration, excitement and impression to film artists and audiences, because this was a film festival with the largest number of participating films ever. From 177 participating films, the Selection Council selected 146 films, including 91 competing films and 56 films in the panoramic program.
During the 5 days of the festival, more than 10,000 audiences came to watch movies at the Cinestar theater system in Da Lat city and Duc Trong district, Lam Dong province; 1,350 audiences watched and interacted with film crews at Da Lat University, Lam Dong Ethnic Boarding School and the province's Army Academy; 8,500 audiences watched movies in 30 mobile screenings in Lam Ha, Dam Rong, Duc Trong and Don Duong districts, including 7,500 viewers who were ethnic minorities in the Central Highlands.
The exhibition "Da Lat - a source of cinematic inspiration" attracted 1,500 visitors and residents of Da Lat city to enjoy.
The opening night of the festival had more than 5,000 spectators and more than 350 artists in attendance. 169,000 viewers watched on digital platforms.

In terms of quality, Mr. Vi Kien Thanh said that the genres of feature films, scientific films, documentaries, and animations are assessed as rich and diverse in content, themes, and forms of expression. In particular, there are many good feature films, with improved artistic quality, many innovations in cinematic language, and many unique discoveries in how to tell a story.
Many films have good ideological content, attractive artistic expression, aiming at humanistic values through the character system; exploiting beauty, kindness and especially delving into the beauty in the soul and people of Vietnam; together with the setting, music and sound, creating a work imbued with Vietnamese cultural identity.

The first category awarded at the closing ceremony was Best Sound and Music. Best Sound was awarded to all four film genres while Best Music was reserved for animated films and feature films only.
The two films Em va Trinh and Tro tan rac ro received the awards for Best Sound and Music in the feature film category, respectively.
The next two categories are Outstanding Design Artist and Outstanding Cinematography. There are three awards for Outstanding Design Artist, including the visual artist and animator in the animation category and the art designer for a feature film. Meanwhile, the nomination for Outstanding Cinematography does not include an animated film category.

Cinema category, Outstanding Art Designer: Ghia Ci Fam ( The Last Wife ); Outstanding Cinematographer: K'Linh ( Glorious Ashes ); Nguyen Phan Linh Dan ( Girl from the Past ).
Awarded for the first time at the 22nd Vietnam Film Festival, the Best Cinematography category and the Best Debut Film Director award went to The Girl from the Past and Fanti respectively.
Among the individual awards, the Best Screenplay and Best Director categories always receive much attention.
This year, in the film category, the film Mom, It's Butterfly! won the award for Best Screenplay, and Best Director went to Bui Thac Chuyen.
In the acting categories, Le Cong Hoang ( Glorious Ashes ) and Bui Lan Huong ( Em va Trinh ) received the Best Supporting Actor/Actress awards. Meanwhile, Thai Hoa ( Con Nhót mot chong ) and Dinh Y Nhung, Mai Cat Vi ( Mother, Butterfly Day! ) were named in the Best Leading Actor/Actress categories.

For the films participating in this festival, the Jury Prize and the Audience Award received no less attention. Con Nhót nhớt chồng received the Jury Prize. Siêu Lừa thấy Siêu Lợ received the Most Favorite Film Award voted by the audience for the feature film participating in the Contemporary Vietnam program.

In particular, the film Em va Trinh was honored to receive the Award from the People's Committee of Lam Dong Province - Majestic Plateau for films set in Lam Dong.
As usual, the most important awards are always announced last. This year's Silver Lotus Award was given to 3 films: Mom, Butterfly!; Em va Trinh; Dao, Pho and Piano in the film category.

The highest category of the Golden Lotus is named respectively: Children in the Mist (documentary), Research on the application of technology in fire fighting (science film) and Children's Dream (animation).
In particular, the most important and always the most watched award of each Film Festival - Golden Lotus for feature films was named Glorious Ashes. Thus, Glorious Ashes had a great night of victory when sweeping many important awards. In contrast, the film Southern Forest Land was completely empty-handed in all award categories.

At the end of the award ceremony, the organizing committee also performed a flag handover ceremony for Ho Chi Minh City - the venue for the 24th Film Festival in 2025. Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Anh Duc, on behalf of Ho Chi Minh City leaders, went on stage to receive the hosting flag.
Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Anh Duc emphasized that this is an honor for Ho Chi Minh City. The city is committed to creating favorable conditions and having the highest spirit and responsibility so that the upcoming film festival will be a successful event, honoring artists, authors and those who contribute to the development of the Vietnamese film industry.
