Ly Hai and his wife Minh Ha just announced the cast of the project Lat mat 8: Vong tay nang.
This season 8 will bring together nearly 100 main and supporting actors. The film will bring together veteran names such as Meritorious Artist Huu Chau, Meritorious Artist Tuyet Thu, Meritorious Artist Kim Phuong, in addition to familiar faces who have appeared before such as Quach Ngoc Tuyen, Ta Lam, Minh Khue...
Notably, the film will also feature many new faces acting for the first time, including Tiktoker Le Tuan Khang. He is a "network phenomenon" that has been noticed recently.
Ly Hai keeps secret about Le Tuan Khang's role.
Sharing the reason for choosing Le Tuan Khang for his project, Ly Hai admitted that he had never known who this content creator was when he came to the casting.
"Before that, I didn't know who Le Tuan Khang was. When you came to the casting, I saw that you were suitable for that role so I invited you. As for specific information about the role, I will keep it confidential. With Le Tuan Khang's ability, you will play this role well," said Ly Hai.
The male director affirmed that up until now, he has not chosen famous actors for his films. Ly Hai's criteria is to choose people who are suitable for the roles he desires.
"When casting, I let you read and act out the script. I let you understand and act out your instincts. From there, I will know your strengths and weaknesses to build a suitable character.
In previous parts, my films also had many new actors, but you still did very well and did not fall out of the film's line," the male director added.

Le Tuan Khang was born in 2002 in Soc Trang province. On his personal channel, he mainly makes videos sharing about the close, peaceful rural life in a humorous style.
Recently, Le Tuan Khang has become a huge phenomenon on social networks when receiving a huge amount of attention. His TikTok channel increased from 5 million to more than 10 million followers in just a few days, the latest video posted has more than 300 million views.
Previously in October, Le Tuan Khang participated in the casting of Lat mat 8. At that time, the content creator attracted attention when he wore flip-flops and rode a motorbike from his hometown to Ho Chi Minh City for the film casting.
Director Ly Hai once said that if there is a suitable character, he will send an invitation to Le Tuan Khang to participate in the film. As for producer Minh Ha, she shared: "I think Le Tuan Khang was very brave to come here. In terms of talent and ability, he has, especially good singing and rustic acting."
Lat mat 8: Vong tay nang will be filmed in many places such as Ho Chi Minh City, Vinh Hy - Ninh Thuan, Phan Thiet - Binh Thuan and Long An. The male director said he wants to promote the culture and tourism of his country through films with strong Vietnamese cultural imprints.
The film will begin filming on December 9, 2024 and is expected to be released on April 30-May 1, 2025.
