Attending the working session of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh with the Standing Committee of Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee on the afternoon of December 9, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan shared his feelings about shrimp under the forest canopy and suggested that Ca Mau should use the film "Southern Forest Land" to promote the image of the province.
According to Minister Le Minh Hoan, Ca Mau not only has Dat Mui but also has U Minh Ha National Park. "Recently, Phu Yen promoted the province's image with the film 'Yellow Flowers on Green Grass', so why doesn't Ca Mau use 'Southern Forest Land' to express the strong vitality of Ca Mau people and the very special and wonderful nature of Ca Mau", the Minister suggested.
The Minister commented that the film "Dat rung phuong nam" with the image of Uncle Ba Phi could be a typical product of Ca Mau province that no other place has, and no one has the right to compare or compete because it is a unique feature associated with the history of Ca Mau. "Ca Mau province is organizing a shrimp festival, but after this event, what will the province do with shrimp in the following years? This is an issue that the province needs to prepare for from now" - the Minister asked.
The Prime Minister's message is that by 2050, the agricultural sector will have three carbon-emitting sectors: crop cultivation, livestock farming and aquaculture. Therefore, the quality of shrimp is only a necessary condition in the trend of green economic growth. Therefore, many businesses no longer buy a product but buy the way the product is created, whether it causes environmental impact or climate change.
"We are not too proud of our delicious shrimp, but if we produce it in the direction of green growth, it will have high value and sustainable development. Shrimp is closely associated with the forest and the culture of Ca Mau people; through that, we will introduce the image of shrimp associated with the whole cultural space that encompasses indigenous resources. I think that we are proud to compare with world shrimp not only in terms of shrimp quality but also in terms of the shrimp industry ecosystem. Recently, Ca Mau leaders also shared that many Japanese enterprises coming to Ca Mau want to plant forests to both protect the sea and collect carbon emissions. This is an opportunity for Ca Mau, as a new model, the Land Law needs to be re-studied," said Mr. Hoan.
