(NLDO) - Hundreds of naval soldiers from various units demobilized this time have so many different thoughts, feelings and emotions...

After 2 years of training and experiencing the hardships of a marine soldier's life, in just a few days, Corporal Nguyen Tan Giau, who works at the DK1/10 platform, will complete his military service and return home to celebrate Tet with his relatives. Joy fills the heart of the young soldier.

"Miss you so much, comrade..."

Returning to his hometown after days of "rolling, crawling, and creeping" on the sunny and windy training ground and "eating the waves and talking to the wind" enduring hardships in the middle of the vast ocean, Giau was filled with many personal and public feelings before parting with his comrades.

After two years of military service at DK1/10 platform, Sergeant Nguyen Tan Giau said goodbye to DK1 platform to reunite with his family.

The corporal's strong face could not hide his emotions as Tet and Spring were approaching. Giau spoke to the writer as if speaking to the ocean, full of emotion: "I can only say thank you to all the leaders, comrades and brothers in the DK1/10 platform for giving me the opportunity to strive to train and build a strong political will and to complete my mission excellently. Before I was discharged from the army and returned to my family, I was so emotional and missed my comrades."

They all shared a deep longing for their unit and comrades. They were reunited with their families when Tet was near after 2 years of "rolling, crawling, and sliding" on the hot, rainy training ground, but when they said goodbye, everyone's eyes were stinging...

"We who lived on the DK1 platform considered each other as brothers. The years in the army were the most beautiful and honorable time of my life. With the bravery of a soldier on the DK1 platform, I will definitely complete my mission well in the new environment" - Giau said with a choked voice.

For Corporal Nguyen Van Lanh, 2 years ago, Lanh boarded a ship to Sinh Ton Island to carry out his mission. He brought with him his love for the islands of his Fatherland and the great responsibility of a soldier.

Up to now, Lanh has become a brave and strong soldier of Sinh Ton Island, with a strong political nature and a proud rank of sergeant on his shoulders. The nights before his discharge, Lanh had trouble sleeping because he missed his comrades, his unit, and the landmark of Sinh Ton Island - the place where he and his comrades had made many memories during their two years of training here.

Farewell party for comrades of Navy Region 2 soldiers

The days of "sharing hardships" training to be ready for combat to defend the island were the days of training Lanh to have a strong political stance. From a somewhat timid young soldier, Lanh became a steadfast, loyal, determined, and mature soldier in action.

Lanh shared: "The days in the army were the most beautiful days of my youth. No matter what position I hold or what job I do in the future, I will never forget the days in the army. It has become a part of my life. I want to hug all my comrades in this farewell."

Memories forever

Ship 09 of Brigade 171, Naval Region 2, had more than 10 soldiers demobilized this spring. Before returning to their hometowns, the ship's command organized a "Farewell Gala for comrades" night.

Soldiers of Brigade 167, Naval Region 2, who went to war in the spring of At Ty were given a painting commemorating the unit's tradition.

In addition to the spring gifts from the ship's leaders to each soldier, there is also a special gift of a large group photo, unframed, given to each soldier.

Corporal Thai Anh Son feels this is a special gift to preserve the moments together. No matter what they do in the future, where they go, or have their own family, the photo will remind them of the most beautiful youth of their lives.

The game of "eating cake on the cheek" of the soldiers of ship 09 before discharge

At the farewell party, the soldiers played a unique and funny game called "eating cake on the cheek". Photos of "check-in" with the ship's officers were also "baked" on the spot.

Officers and soldiers consider each other as brothers in a family. Corporal Nguyen Tran Anh Tu was awarded the title "advanced soldier" by the unit.

Holding the certificate in his hand, Tu was moved and said that he had grown up a lot. The army is truly a great school for Tu to strive and grow up. "Today's memories will be remembered forever, the bravery of a soldier is the luggage for me to continue to contribute and work after returning to my hometown" - Tu confided.

The last calendar pages of the year of the Dragon are gradually running out, making room for the spring of the Snake to flood into every street corner and village.

In the joy of people across the country welcoming the new year, there is the joy of thousands of soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army and Navy who have completed their military service and returned to their localities.

Each soldier had a different range of emotions before saying goodbye to his unit and his comrades, but they all shared the joy of completing their mission on time. The joy of the day of discharge included emotional tears, tight hugs and sobs.

That is forever the most beautiful memory of youth...
