On the afternoon of October 31, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Head of the Steering Committee for External Information Work Nguyen Trong Nghia worked with the Head of the Delegation of Vietnamese Representative Agencies Abroad in 2024.

At the meeting, Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu gave an overview of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' foreign information work; emphasizing that for many years, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has identified foreign information work as one of the main tasks of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad, promoting Vietnam's soft power, so it has been actively promoting the image of the country, its people, and the achievements of the renovation process to international friends.

Through information and exchanges between the Heads of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia believes that with their mettle, intelligence and talent, the Heads of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad will overcome all difficulties, build Vietnamese representative agencies abroad to be increasingly strong and prestigious, successfully complete all tasks and responsibilities assigned by the Party, State and people, and make practical contributions to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, for an independent, self-reliant, peaceful, cooperative, friendly, developed, prosperous, happy and strong Vietnam entering a new era, an era of national growth.

Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia requested Heads of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad to continue to promote relations with neighboring countries, major countries, strategic partners, comprehensive partners, traditional friends and other important partners in depth and substance, deepening the sentiment between the Communist Party of Vietnam and political parties; contributing to consolidating a stable and peaceful foreign situation and creating the most favorable conditions for national development. Closely coordinate with forces working on foreign information to synchronously deploy domestic and foreign information.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized that the Heads of Vietnamese Representative Agencies abroad need to promote their role in foreign affairs, combine the strength of the times, contribute to firmly protecting the Fatherland from early on and from afar; effectively and practically utilize new relationship frameworks to mobilize high-quality resources for socio-economic development, and at the same time proactively research, monitor and grasp international public opinion about Vietnam as well as the thoughts, feelings and ideas of the Vietnamese community abroad, do a good job of protecting Vietnamese citizens, promote the good tradition of "mutual love and support" of the Vietnamese people.

In 2025 and 2026, the country will have many important political events, as well as celebrate the anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations with many important countries and partners. Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia suggested that Heads of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad urgently develop information and propaganda plans, mobilize and attract the attention of the media and public opinion in the host country; advise and create conditions for foreign reporters to come to Vietnam to report and write articles, especially about important political and foreign affairs events of the country, strongly spreading the message "Vietnam is independent, self-reliant, peaceful, cooperative, friendly, developed, prosperous, and happy".
