The conference assessed that over the past 2 years, the Party Committee and the Command of Naval Region 4 have led, directed resolutely and synchronously implemented comprehensive solutions to green and create shade on the islands of Truong Sa island district. They have proactively coordinated, organized propaganda, and mobilized support sources for trees, materials, and funding to green the islands of Truong Sa archipelago. Through coordination and work with localities, businesses, and individuals in implementing the program "Greening Truong Sa" in 2023 and 2024, the results of planting, grafting trees, and mobilizing support for nearly 450,000 trees; more than 150 tons of fertilizer and nearly 600 tons of nutritious soil. Building 06 tree nurseries with an area of about 3,500m2 to create a source of green trees. The total number of trees planted on the entire archipelago is more than 80,000, including: Coconut, Casuarina, Panax notoginseng, Tra, Tamanu, Mango, Panax notoginseng and some other types of trees.
In the coming time, the Naval Region 4 Command will focus on directing the planning of land areas for tree planting, building nurseries for planting on the islands; proactively deploying the preparation of forces, means, and arranging forces when there is a plan to load and transport materials, carry soil, seedlings, and fertilizers for planting; organize planting and cover, windbreak, and wavebreak. Actively call on localities, agencies, and businesses nationwide to propagate, mobilize, and support resources, especially materials for planting and caring for trees such as: fertile soil, fertilizer. Deploy good and creative models to build a standard, green, clean, and beautiful environmental landscape on the islands.

Concluding the Conference, Colonel Ngo Dinh Xuyen, Deputy Commander of Naval Region 4, affirmed: The greening of islands in Truong Sa island district is of great significance not only in proactively responding effectively to climate change and developing the economy and national defense in Truong Sa, but also contributing to building a regular, green, clean and beautiful environmental landscape on the islands. Trees in Truong Sa not only create beautiful landscapes, regulate the climate, create shade but also act as fences to shield against wind and storms, directly contributing to the defense and combat capabilities of the army and people on the island. Create green spaces for soldiers and people in Truong Sa to work and live long-term at the forefront of waves and winds.
The program “Greening Truong Sa” is a major policy in which it is necessary to mobilize contributions and support from localities, businesses, organizations and individuals, compatriots nationwide, and overseas Vietnamese to turn to Truong Sa with practical actions, material and spiritual support to green the islands, build Truong Sa island district to be increasingly regular, green, clean, beautiful, and steadfast at the forefront of waves and winds./.
