For the first time, Miss Vietnam participated in the Miss International contest.

On October 8, Miss Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy and runner-up Bui Khanh Linh were announced as the two representatives of Vietnam to the Miss International 2024 and Miss Intercontinental 2024 pageants. Accordingly, Thanh Thuy is the first Miss Vietnam to compete in Miss International.

The final round of Miss International 2024 (62nd time) is scheduled to take place on November 12 at Tokyo Dome City Hall - Japan. Miss Thanh Thuy is expected to bring home high achievements.

At the sash handover ceremony before leaving for the competition, Thanh Thuy shared: “After a long wait, I have the honor of fulfilling my role before the end of my term as Miss Vietnam, which is to bring the two words Vietnam to the international beauty arena. As the first Miss Vietnam to come to Miss International, I will do my best to bring to the international organization a Vietnamese representative with full courage, qualities, patriotism, and a desire to promote the image and people of Vietnam.”

On this occasion, Thanh Thuy performed in the “Lua Nang Sen” costume by young designer Bui Cong Thien Bao. This is the national costume that will accompany her at Miss International 2024.

Before that, Thanh Thuy had time to hone her skills with the professional panel: Miss Le Hoang Phuong (catwalk skills coach), Miss Luong Thuy Linh and MC Tan Tai (communication skills coaches), Quan Nguyen and Pu Le (makeup and hair skills coaches), Stylist Phong Truong, Choreographer Khoa Nguyen (talent performance choreographer). Her evening gown for the final round will be designed by designer Le Thanh Hoa.

Ms. Pham Kim Dung, National Director of Miss International Vietnam, shared: “This year, the Miss International organization is delighted to send the reigning Miss Vietnam to the contest. Thanh Thuy has improved a lot in less than 2 years since being crowned Miss Vietnam 2022. We hope that international friends will see the traditional and modern beauty of this Vietnamese girl.”

From 2025 onwards, the winner of the Miss Vietnam National pageant (held for the first time from 2024) will officially represent Vietnam at Miss International.

On the same day, runner-up Bui Khanh Linh was extremely emotional when receiving the Vietnam sash to the Miss Intercontinental 2024 arena. She is the 1st runner-up of Miss Grand Vietnam 2023, Top 5 Miss World Vietnam 2023.

Miss Intercontinental is a contest first held in 1971, honoring beauty, talent, intelligence and promoting the culture and image of participating countries. This year's contest will be held from November 20. The final night is scheduled to take place on December 6 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

With outstanding achievements and tireless efforts, Bui Khanh Linh is expected to bring high results.

Over the past time, Bui Khanh Linh has been practicing and improving many skills with the professional team: Miss Bao Ngoc, Supermodel Minh Tu, Quan Nguyen and Pu Le, Stylist Nguyen Minh Quan. Designer duo Song Toan is in charge of designing Khanh Linh's evening gown for the final night.
