Tunnels and an emotional reunion with historical witnesses

On the evening of March 31, in Ho Chi Minh City, the movie Tunnels: Sun in the Dark directed by Bui Thac Chuyen was officially released to the public.

The event was attended by two Heroes of the People's Armed Forces: Intelligence Colonel Nguyen Van Tau (alias: Tu Cang) and hero To Van Duc. These are people who directly fought in Cu Chi, witnessed the fierce years and contributed to creating the heroic history of this land.

Notably in the film, the character Tu Dap played by actor Quang Tuan was inspired by the hero To Van Duc.

Sharing his feelings on this special day, People's Armed Forces Hero To Van Duc said: “I am also a person like many Cu Chi people, fighting thanks to the tunnel system. We are guerrillas, clinging to the land to protect the village. Because without the tunnels, we could not survive. Thank you director Bui Thac Chuyen for the real stories that contributed to creating such a realistic film.

I have nothing more than deep gratitude to the actors and crew, because the film has recreated a part of Cu Chi Steel Land - a story that in the past 50 years no film has ever made about the tunnels.

Recalling the past, to describe the fierceness of the Cu Chi battlefield that year, Intelligence Colonel Nguyen Van Tau used a saying full of iron will: "The grass and trees died, the land and rocks were bare, but the people did not surrender". At the age of 98, he still clearly remembers the fierce memories of that year and clearly reads heroic verses about the past war.

At the event, the film crew gathered together on the red carpet. In addition, many generations of actors and artists of Vietnamese cinema also came to support the film: Meritorious Artist Le Thien, People's Artist My Uyen, Meritorious Artist Quyen Linh, Meritorious Artist Hanh Thuy, actors Quoc Cuong, Kieu Trinh, Hua Vi Van, director duo Bao Nhan and Nam Cito, actors Lam Vy Da and Hua Minh Dat, Kha Nhu, Huynh Phuong, Mac Van Khoa and his wife, Vo Tan Phat, Huu Dang, Huu Tien, Tran Ngoc Vang, Lanh Thanh, Nguyen Thao, Marando, Do Nhat Hoang, Ngoc Xuan, Nguyen Lam Thao Tam, Huynh Mai Cat Tien, Hoang Yen Chibi, Thien Minh...

The film crew of Detective Kien: Headless Case , including director Victor Vu, producer - actress Dinh Ngoc Diep, and the actors in the film: Tran Quoc Anh, Vo Dien Gia Huy, actors Anh Pham and Anh Duc, Minh Anh also came to support .

When Meritorious Artist Cao Minh and actress Diem Hang Lamoon sang the song " The Sun in the Dark" (music: Hua Kim Tuyen, NTB; lyrics by Hua Kim Tuyen, Bui Thac Chuyen), the guests and audience present at the event seemed to be brought back to the heroic years, where the strong will and patriotism of the Cu Chi people were deeply engraved in each verse.

Director Bui Thac Chuyen, representative of the film's cast, investors... sent thanks to the audience and hoped the film would spread, especially to young people.

Tunnels: Sun in the Dark will be shown early from 7pm on April 2 and 7pm on April 3 before officially opening on April 4.
