Sharing with reporters, Mr. Duong Vu Hoang (living in District 4) said that before there was metro line 1, to travel from his house in District 4 to the High-Tech Park (Thu Duc City) for work, he had to go to Ben Thanh (District 1) and then take bus number 53.
“The bus journey takes from 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes depending on the traffic situation. Therefore, since the metro officially started operating, I decided to choose this means of transportation. The metro is fast, from District 1 to the High-Tech Park station is only about 20 minutes. When I arrive at the High-Tech Park station, I will take the bus to work, the total time spent will be much more economical than taking the bus like before” - Mr. Hoang shared.

Similarly, Vinh Tong, a student at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology - HUTECH, said his house is in District 8, while the school is in the high-tech zone (Thu Duc City). Before the metro system, Tong had to go to school by bus, but the journey from his house in District 8 to school took about 1 hour.
“Therefore, right after the metro officially operated, I chose this means of transport to go to school every day to shorten travel time. The train station is not far from my school, so traveling is also convenient,” said Vinh Tong.
