This afternoon (October 8), the leader of the People's Committee of Nghia Dan district (Nghe An) said that the district's Department of Education and Training had reported on the image of a student being beaten by a classmate at Nghia Loc Kindergarten.
According to the report, class 5 years old A2 has 43 children, led by 2 homeroom teachers, Ms. Tran Quynh Mai and Le Thi Ly. On the afternoon of October 7, the school assigned Ms. Mai to update school information to the database in the medical room and Ms. Ly went to another room to prepare lesson content and materials to participate in professional seminars for schools and clusters of schools according to the plan of the Department of Education and Training.
After that, the school arranged for Ms. Dao Thi Soa (born in 1986, teacher of 3-year-old class C1) to manage the class while the two teachers were on other duties.
During the class management process starting at 2:30 p.m., an incident occurred in which a child may have hit 6 friends, causing various degrees of injury (bruises) on the body. At the end of the session, when returning the children, Ms. Mai discovered this. The school, teachers and parents took the child to the doctor.
That same evening, the school visited each family to discuss and apologize to parents for their mistakes in managing, educating and caring for children.
The Department of Education and Training of Nghia Dan district has requested Nghia Loc Kindergarten to specifically report on the school's situation, management, assignment, division of tasks, teaching and learning situation, child care, the discovery of children being beaten, and the responsibilities of teachers.
The Department of Education and Training requires Nghia Loc Kindergarten to report specific and accurate information about the incident. Whether or not teachers, staff or adults have influenced children's behavior. The Department requires homeroom teachers, teachers in charge of classes and all teachers and staff to write reports and commit to the authorities, industry and security agencies about the contents related to the assigned tasks.
In addition, the Department of Education and Training recommended that the People's Committee of Nghia Dan district direct the Principal of Nghia Loc Kindergarten to temporarily suspend the teacher who was in charge of the class at the time of the incident; at the same time, direct the police to promptly investigate and report to take measures to handle the matter in the spirit of taking responsibility for any mistakes.
