Lam Ha: Spreading the Voluntary Blood Donation Movement

Many people from all walks of life in Lam Ha district participated in blood donation.

Mr. Phan Van Tinh - Chairman of Lam Ha District Red Cross Society shared: "Every drop of blood given, a life remains", that is not only a message but also carries the profound humanitarian meaning of the Society in recent years for the Voluntary Blood Donation Movement in the district. That noble gesture has become a regular activity and has a wide influence, attracting a large number of cadres, union members, members and people from all walks of life to participate, thereby contributing to supplementing the reserve blood source for treatment and emergency care for patients".

In Lien Ha commune, the blood donation work to save lives was planned and effectively implemented by the Red Cross Society of the commune through effective methods, attracting the participation of many cadres and people in the area. To become a highlight in this work, Mr. Luong Viet Huynh - Chairman of the Red Cross Society of Lien Ha commune said: “For the above work, the Association established 2 blood donation clubs in 2 villages with 40 members participating. This club has the task of gathering people to propagate and spread the noble gesture, which is donating blood to save lives. In addition, the members of the club are people with different blood types, thereby they are always ready in all situations. In 2024, through propaganda and mobilization of voluntary blood donation, Lien Ha commune exceeded the target assigned by the superiors. To achieve this result, the Association built a plan to mobilize voluntary blood donation, strengthened the Steering Committee for voluntary blood donation of the commune, and prepared all conditions well to coordinate the organization of the Blood Donation Festival at the Cultural House of Tan Ha commune for 3 communes of Tan Ha, Dan Phuong, and Lien Ha. Thereby, on July 19, 2024, 120 units of blood were mobilized, reaching 109%, exceeding 9% of the assigned plan".

Closely following the plan and voluntary blood donation targets assigned by the province to all districts in the province every year, the District Association has developed a plan to allocate voluntary blood donation targets to each commune, town, agency, and unit in the area, dividing them into clusters to organize voluntary blood donation. At the same time, coordinating with the Vietnam Fatherland Front, political organizations, agencies, and units to promote propaganda and mobilize the entire population to participate in voluntary blood donation every year.

Before organizing blood donation, Lam Ha District Red Cross Society advised the District Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee to organize a meeting of the District Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee, the Blood Donation Steering Committee and the Red Cross Societies of communes, towns, agencies and units to deploy the blood donation plan, agree on propaganda and mobilization plans and organize the implementation to achieve the plan targets set by the Steering Committee.

In order for the Voluntary Blood Donation Movement to spread widely, the Association will continue to advise the District Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee to direct units and localities to promote propaganda in many forms such as: hanging banners, posters, slogans, propaganda on the radio system, through social networking sites; organizing voluntary blood donation campaigns on occasions such as National Voluntary Blood Donation Day. In addition, promptly encourage and reward groups and individuals with outstanding achievements in the Voluntary Blood Donation Movement.

In 2024, thanks to the active response of cadres, civil servants, public employees, union members, youth and the majority of people, Lam Ha district mobilized nearly 2,000 people to register to donate blood, receiving 1,336/1,080 units of blood assigned by the province, reaching 124%. Recently, the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation of Lam Dong province in coordination with the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation of Lam Ha district organized the launching ceremony of the National Voluntary Blood Donation Day on April 7, 2025. Thereby, the Festival mobilized 415 units of blood to supply to Lam Dong General Hospital.

Based on the assigned targets, in the coming time, Lam Ha district will continue to promote propaganda and mobilization through real people and real events, mobilizing the whole society to actively participate in the movement, multiplying the spirit of humanity for the community in each person, contributing to meeting the need for blood in medical treatment, helping many patients to be saved. In addition, building a suitable voluntary blood donation plan, allocating specific targets to agencies, units, and localities, spreading the inherent good spirit of Lam Ha people living with love, solidarity, sharing and responsibility to society.
