Expectations for tourism to take off thanks to the "Northeast roof"

Overcoming difficulties, determined to complete the task

Responding to the National Target Program on New Rural Construction for the 2021-2025 period according to Decision No. 263/QD-TTg, on the morning of February 15, the District Party Committee - People's Committee of Loc Binh District, Lang Son held a launching ceremony for the new rural construction program for the 2021-2025 period. Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of the District Party Committee Doan Thu Ha attended and chaired the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Van Chieu - Chairman of the District People's Committee said that by the end of 2023, the whole district had 9/19 communes meeting new rural standards, of which two communes met advanced standards, with an average of 12.95 criteria per commune.

The rate of households using electricity reached 97.5%, 100% of communes had roads to the center, school and medical facilities were invested and upgraded, production activities had an in-depth economic shift with many important agricultural and forestry products serving the demand for goods in the province, restructuring in the service industry and initially had many good results.

Determined to implement the New Rural Program, the District Party Committee - People's Committee continuously promoted the spirit of democracy, encouraged and motivated groups and individuals with creative ideas that brought practical results. This helped to receive great support from the people and businesses, mobilizing capital dedicated to the Program up to more than 67 billion VND.

2024 breakthrough and success

In a quick exchange with reporters on the sidelines of the ceremony, Loc Binh District Party Secretary Doan Thu Ha continued to affirm the high determination of the entire people and political system in successfully completing the task of helping Loc Binh overcome difficulties, develop the socio-economy, and improve income and life for the people.

At the same time, supporting the Prime Minister's commitment at COP26, bringing Vietnam's net emissions to zero by 2050, responding to climate change. Every year, the area of ​​newly planted forests in the district always reaches over 1,300 hectares. Up to now, the total forest coverage area of ​​the district has reached 58.4%, helping to minimize natural disasters and floods. In addition, revenue from forestry products also contributes significantly to increasing people's income.

Ms. Ha said that Loc Binh will continue to promote propaganda work, raise awareness among people and Party committees and authorities at all levels so that the new rural construction is truly for the people.

Promote in-depth development of agricultural and forestry products, bringing more added value, gradually applying science and technology into the production process, applying standards and regulations to meet domestic and export requirements.

“The private economic sector, joint venture and production models, cooperatives... play a very important role in promoting local economic development, enhancing the competitiveness of products and goods, solving employment needs, ensuring social security is one of the key development incentives of the District Party Committee - District People's Committee in 2024”.

Loc Binh's government apparatus will introduce practical support policies and reduce administrative procedures to bring the greatest convenience to people and businesses.

Realizing the practical effectiveness of production linkage models, the private economic sector and cooperatives are also encouraged and promoted by Loc Binh district, along with practical and quick support policies, minimizing administrative procedures to provide the greatest assistance to people and businesses.

Highly appreciating the potential for tourism development, Secretary Ha also said that Loc Binh owns many majestic natural wonders, typically the "roof of the Northeast", Mau Son tourist and resort area. With a climate typical of the subtropical and temperate regions, the average annual temperature is 15.6 degrees Celsius, Mau Son is often covered in fog. Especially, in winter, there are days when the temperature drops below zero, ice and snow appear here, bringing many experiences to tourists.

“Loc Binh tourism still has a lot of room to fly high. Besides Mau Son wonder, other scenic spots such as Ta Keo lake, Ban Lai lake, Na Miu stream, Long Dau stream; Hang Cau stream and Khuon Van waterfall; Vi family memorial site… also have a lot of untapped potential.”

With the aim of transforming the rural economic structure, restructuring the agricultural sector, and creating a foundation for political and social stability, on February 22, 2022, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 263/QD-TTg, approving the National Target Program on New Rural Development for the period 2021 - 2025. Up to now, the Program has entered the third phase with extremely positive changes, gradually affirming the correctness of the policy and guidelines.

Loc Binh is a mountainous border district of Lang Son province with 21 administrative units including 2 towns (Loc Binh, Na Duong) and 19 communes, in which ethnic minorities account for 96.6% of the district's population. The agricultural land area is up to more than 90%. In recent years, under the efforts and determination to overcome difficulties and escape poverty of the District Party Committee - People's Committee and all the people, Loc Binh has been given a completely new look .
