QTO - Implementing the minutes of the Conference on trade, investment, tourism, labor and media cooperation between the three provinces: Quang Tri (Vietnam) - Savannakhet (Laos) - Mukdahan (Kingdom of Thailand) for the period 2022-2024, this afternoon, November 17, in Mukdahan province, the Department of Public Relations of Mukdahan province and the Department of Information and Communications of Quang Tri coordinated to organize a meeting to exchange experiences and media cooperation between the press agencies of the two provinces.

Speaking at the meeting, Mukdahan Governor Worayan Bunarat provided an overview of the socio-economic situation of Mukdahan province, and said that the province pays great attention to tourism development, especially tourism along the Mekong River. With the advantage of having the Mekong River and Friendship Bridge 2 connecting with Savannakhet province (Laos); many famous historical sites such as Phu Pha Therb Park, Naga Manorom Snake Temple, Ho Pra Keow Jade Tower...; ethnic diversity (Thai, Lao, Vietnamese, Chinese) and unique culture and cuisine. These are the points that Mukdahan province will focus on exploiting to develop tourism, attracting tourists in the province, domestically and from other countries, especially Laos and Vietnam.
Affirming that cooperation in communications will promote better cooperation in other fields, Mukdahan Governor Worayan Bunarat affirmed that the two provinces of Mukdahan and Quang Tri will continue to connect and support each other to develop together in many fields.

At the meeting, the two sides provided some information on the media, press and publishing work of each province, and evaluated the results of implementing media cooperation agreements in recent years. Exactly 10 years ago, in 2013, the first Media Conference was held in Mukdahan province between the three provinces of Mukdahan (Thailand), Sanvannakhet (Laos) and Quang Tri (Vietnam). Attending the conference were delegations from the three provinces and press agencies and reporters of Mukdahan province.
This event marked the first step in the process of media cooperation between the three provinces. In 2014, Mukdahan province continued to organize a media conference of the three provinces of Mukdahan, Savannakhet, and Quang Tri to further strengthen cooperation in media information, bring information to the press about the activities of the three provinces and three countries, and create a close connection in information between the three provinces.
In particular, this is also an opportunity for journalists to learn, exchange and improve their knowledge of media to serve their press activities. In the following years, through meetings, the Conference on Trade, Investment, Tourism, Labor and Media Cooperation between the three provinces of Quang Tri, Savannakhet and Mukdahan held annually, the media agencies of the three provinces had the opportunity to meet and provide each other with important content related to media work. Strengthening cooperation and exchanging information on international and regional situations, potential advantages for economic development, trade and tourism between the provinces.
Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Quang Tri Nguyen Hoan said that Quang Tri province and Thailand have strengthened cooperation in various fields. Currently, with Quang Tri province investing in key projects for the development of the East-West Economic Corridor, cooperation and investment opportunities between Quang Tri and Mukdahan provinces will certainly open up with great potential. The important role of press and media agencies of the two provinces in promoting this cooperation is played by them.
To strengthen the friendship and long-term cooperation between the two provinces in the field of information and communication, the Department of Information and Communication of Quang Tri province hopes that the communication exchange activities between the two provinces will become an annual activity to exchange information and share experiences in the field of communication; discuss issues on press and communication development in the context of the 4th Industrial Revolution and digital transformation. Increase delegation exchanges, experience exchanges, and professional expertise in press and communication.
Create conditions for press reporters of the two provinces to visit, exchange and work in order to learn experiences, cooperate in information, promote images and introduce the potential for attracting investment and tourism of each province; create conditions and open cooperation mechanisms for press agencies of the two provinces to regularly share information with each other, publish promotional information about the two provinces in the press and media of each province.
Director of the Department of Public Relations Wanvipa Pew said that at this meeting, the two sides had a frank discussion and agreed on many important and practical contents in the cooperation in communication between the two provinces in the coming time. After signing the minutes of the meeting, the two sides proactively implemented the contents in a specific and substantive manner so that the communication cooperation relationship would become increasingly more effective. At the same time, he affirmed that promoting communication cooperation between Quang Tri province and Mukdahan province would open a new door full of potential for comprehensive development and cooperation between the two localities.

Based on the opinions discussed at the meeting, the two sides agreed on the contents of cooperation in the coming time, including: Continuing to strengthen communication cooperation, promoting and introducing the history and culture of the land and people; information on the policies, potentials and advantages of each province and each country in calling for and attracting investment; on the friendly and cooperative relationship between the two provinces...
Compile publications and television reports to disseminate the policies and guidelines of each country, propagate and promote the land, people, potentials, advantages of the two provinces, and the friendly and cooperative relationship between the two provinces in the languages: Vietnamese, English, Thai... for propaganda in the press of the two provinces. Media content is expressed through press works (printed newspapers, electronic newspapers) compiled by both sides in written text (text), still images (still images), animations (animation), graphics (graphics), audio (audio) in the languages: Vietnamese, English, Thai (2 works/month/unit).
At the same time, promote communication exchanges between media agencies, including communication via radio, television, newspapers and online media. Activities such as exchanging articles, information, documents and experiences in the field of communication will be organized to enhance understanding of the country, people, culture and history of each province.
