Accordingly, Klook will give Vietnamese tourists 10,000 free tickets to amusement parks and water parks at destinations around the world.

Klook sees tourism industry growth booming again after pandemic

Also at the campaign launch announcement ceremony, Klook representatives updated the overall data and recovery speed of the tourism industry, along with the company's new milestone in the region in general and the Vietnamese market in particular.

Specifically, in Asia-Pacific, the tourism industry is showing signs of good recovery with a recovery rate of about 75% compared to the same period in 2019. In addition, according to Klook, tourists are also spending more on experiential travel, especially Millennials and Gen Z customers. In the Asia-Pacific region, up to 85% of Millennials and Gen Z tourists said they are willing to invest and spend money on experiences.

“Although we are still in the early stages of travel recovery in Asia Pacific, we have seen incredible growth and our business has tripled from pre-Covid-19 levels. This growth is underpinned by the wide range of travel products and services we have added over the past few months, from car rentals, train tickets, to holiday packages, along with over half a million other experiences available on our platform,” said CS Soong, Vice President of Market Development at Klook.

Commenting further on the 2024 travel market situation, Klook representative affirmed: "We predict that 2024 will be a year of even stronger growth for the travel industry, when flight capacity fully recovers in Asia - Pacific. This will strongly boost travel demand in both Asia - Pacific in general and Vietnam in particular, and we are always ready to support travelers everywhere to explore and find their joy".

Klook is constantly expanding its portfolio of experiences and destinations on the platform, meeting the ever-changing needs of travel. In particular, Klook is providing more than 530,000 activities in more than 2,300 destinations worldwide, from fun activities such as amusement parks, water parks, museums, discovery tours at the destination (also known as land tours), to travel services such as airport transfers, car rentals, train tickets, etc.

Notably, Klook is accelerating its growth by applying technology, specifically AI technology, to build the Klook AI chatbot (K.AI) to optimize customer support in planning travel and deciding to book tickets.

Vietnam Travel Trends and Klook in 2023

Vietnam's domestic tourism has grown beyond expectations, with 86 million domestic visitors from January to August 2023, up 44% from 2019 (59.7 million). The main source of this growth came from overnight trips, up 73% from 2019.

Of which, domestic tourism demand in the first 8 months of 2023 doubled compared to 2019. Particularly popular attractions are amusement parks and water parks.

Klook Vietnam's overseas travel segment has also recovered and reached 109% compared to 2019. At Klook, spending per overseas travel booking has increased by 44% compared to 2019. In particular, attractions, especially amusement parks and water parks, are also experiences enjoyed by Vietnamese tourists when traveling abroad.
