Children with disabilities have a friendly environment like a second family

Mr. Do Van Vinh, Director of the BG Social Protection Center, said that over the past 20 years, the BG Social Protection Center has cared for and nurtured nearly 1,500 children in special circumstances, providing a warm life filled with love, and being a solid support for orphans, disabled children, deaf and mute children, and children infected with HIV/AIDS. Many children have made remarkable progress and maturity, especially some who have returned home and started successful businesses.

Hearing loss is a very special type of disability. Deaf children often cannot hear or speak, so they face many difficulties in life, activities, and study, especially in accessing social services such as transportation, health care, employment, education, etc. Learning to read, calculate, have life skills, and communicate in sign language to integrate into the community is very difficult for deaf children.

Mr. Do Van Vinh, Director of the BG Social Work Center, said that when they were admitted to the Center, the children could not hear or speak, so they could not read or write, so teachers were required to be attentive, dedicated, meticulous, and patient in guiding them from basic skills in daily life, greetings, and following rules, and then teaching them knowledge in the curriculum through sign language. In the group, the children were also educated in love, solidarity, and helping each other to progress. It was empathy that shortened the distance between teachers and children, and between children, creating a friendly environment for children like their second family.

With all their heart, love and perseverance, over the years, the staff and teachers of the Center have continuously learned, researched and had effective initiatives to contribute to the progress of deaf and mute students. The good news is that the students are in an environment with friends like them and teachers who understand them, so they quickly integrate and progress. Unlike students in general schools, deaf and mute students at the BG Social Work Center not only learn in class but also learn while playing, working and in daily life. Teachers are also the ones who manage, care for and monitor the students during every meal and sleep. Therefore, education of necessary life skills is also integrated during the time the students stay at the Center.

In addition to self-service skills, through lessons in class, this place also teaches children communication skills through gestures, private language signs, as well as protection skills, life value education... In addition, children can also participate in cultural activities, sports, healthy entertainment, and better integrate into life.

Along with teachers, parents and relatives are also one of the motivations to help children progress and integrate better when returning to the community. Deaf children have more difficulties in learning and integrating into life than other children. The perseverance and persistence of teachers, schools and families will contribute to opening up opportunities for children to learn better and be more confident in their journey of acquiring knowledge.

Building a green - clean - beautiful landscape helps children develop comprehensively.

Over the years, in addition to improving the quality of care and nurturing for children in special circumstances, the staff, civil servants and employees of the Facility have always focused on building a green - clean - beautiful landscape to create a safe and healthy living, learning and working environment, helping children develop comprehensively.

The children's housing area is spacious, clean, airy, and always filled with light; the dining room, common room, hall, playground, etc. are fully equipped with equipment and utensils for children's learning, playing, and living. The trash bin system is placed in the right place to facilitate the children's activities. The facility has also built a waste classification system and is collected according to regulations. Periodically, the facility coordinates with environmental sanitation units to clean all classrooms, functional buildings, houses, etc. to ensure that the living, studying, and living environment is always clean and airy.

In the campus of the Facility, there are many green trees planted, creating fresh and cool air. The staff, employees, and youth union members of the unit regularly guide the children to take care of and prune the trees to ensure that they are always lush. Every year, on the occasion of Tet tree planting, the unit's leaders mobilize all staff to participate in planting trees in the campus; to celebrate the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the youth union of the Facility organizes for children to plant trees, flowers, and ornamental plants around the campus; prune and care for trees; clean the environment... to help create a close, environmentally friendly landscape, while educating children about environmental protection.

It can be said that the attention to building a green - clean - beautiful space has contributed to improving the quality of care, nurturing and education for children in special circumstances at the BG Social Protection Center.
