(NLDO) – On February 11, the USD price at commercial banks was bought at 25,310 VND and sold at 25,710 VND, an increase of 110 VND/USD compared to the end of the previous day.

On February 11, the State Bank sharply increased the USD selling price at the Exchange by 248 VND, from 25,450 VND to 25,698 VND/USD.
This is the first time the State Bank has increased the USD selling price since late October 2024. The agency also increased the central exchange rate by 40 VND, to 24,522 VND/USD.
At commercial banks, the USD buying price is 25,310 VND, selling price is 25,710 VND, up 110 VND/USD compared to the end of the previous day. This is a very strong increase in recent times.
Notably, the free USD buying price is 25,550 VND, selling price is 25,700 VND, 10 VND/USD lower than the selling price of banks.
The State Bank and commercial banks increased foreign currency selling prices as the VND/USD exchange rate on the interbank market heated up after the Lunar New Year holiday, at times rising to 25,500 VND/USD.
Our country's foreign exchange market fluctuated in the context of the USD Index reaching 108.34 USD, helping the USD increase in value very strongly compared to many other currencies.
The reason is said to be from US President Donald Trump's announcement that he will apply a new 25% tax on all steel and aluminum imported from countries.
Last week, Mr. Donald Trump also imposed a 10% tariff on imported goods from China, announced a 25% tariff on imported goods from Canada and Mexico but postponed it for 30 days.
